No, the lightning thorns is still technically just thorns damage so it won't trigger anything at all :)

Might be nice to define what "strike" means in game. I assume it means "hit" like in Path of Exile and hence applies to anything that deals damage instantaneously, but was not sure if thorns applied to ranged "strikes" since I assume a strike to be melee in nature.

In game definition: This is a special damage stat that is dealt to enemies when they strike you. Thorns is considered to be Physical damage.

Some wording is a bit ambiguous because it was written a long time ago (and then got forgotten) - but basically anything that deals direct damage to you will trigger thorns and all other "on hurt" type effects
