He goes out to one of the gravestones in the cemetery and has a few more lines of dialogue but you'll need to teleport to the boss area to speak with him again cause of the fog walls

Like I said you'll have to use the bonfire to teleport to it

The whole first area is a "cemetery". The second time you play through it, it's called Untended Graves.
