So... warmth.

I've wanted to make a thread about this since the first time I obtained it and used it, but didn't, because I wanted to make sure it didn't have some hidden benefit or something.

So as it stands now, Warmth is a pyromancy that casts a small heal-over time area of effect flame that lasts 30 seconds and can heal for 216 HP total if you stand in the radius of its heal for all it's duration. Anyone that stands near the flame can be healed be it enemy/allied phantoms and even NPC's.

It's effects don't seem like anything broken, it has it's risks and many uses, all cool and well... except it costs 2 attunement slots and 50 focus points to be used.

It scales from nothing as far as I can tell, I've tried using lingering dragoncrest, upgrading luck, faith, int, using the white hair talisman, etc... nothing seems to be able to make it better.

Does it really suck that much or is there some sort of secret way to make it useful?

It is popular for trolling, which is why it's from the mad phantom covenant.

Warmth is a covenant reward, it's crap in PvP, unless you plan on just sitting there with an havel shield while the other player takes swings at you, to be honest the fact that you can only obtain it via ranking, its useless, especially for such a low tier pyro.

But it's fun to troll. Like getting summoned for a boss and then dropping warmth on the boss, for a classic example. It's also useful when hosting fight clubs.

Do you really want to farm 30 cov rewards just to recieve a pyro that used to be one of the very first skills you could buy? lol sorry it just doesn't sit well with me.

Meh, for trash mobs it can be somewhat useful, add in the pyro boost skills and watch it heal you at the same speed as a weak regen miracle lol.

Was good in dks2 for healing in invasions but it's useless in dks3....like toxic and poison.....

Uh. . . Dark souls spends 99% of the time trolling you, while spending the remaining 1% trying to make you believe that the whole lore makes sense.

it used to be very usefull to facilitate fight clubs in DS2 and it healed a lot more, but now... its a joke. if a fight club host casts this ♥♥♥♥, we all have a good larph, untill it dies out to sadness...

Compare it to Bountiful Sunlight;

Bountiful Sunlight - FP 70, Last 60 seconds, heals 10HP over duration (according to wiki), 2 slots. Is effected by extention rings.

Warmth - FP 50, Last 30 seconds, heals 20HP in burst over duration (according to wiki), 2 slots, not effected by anything, scaling, rings, ect.

20FP less, last half as long, and i have not used bountiful Sunlight but i have used Warmth and found it pointless and removed it the first chance i got.

Warmth is pretty good for trolling, specially when an invader casts it in a corner, you equip a greatshield and steal it by positioning yourself inside the warmth with the greatshield up

Agreed. Thank goodness the ONE person who used it against me had none of that :D
