what makes the sunlight straight sword good?
to my understanding, it can't be buffed or infused cause it is a twinkling weapon. Does it have a high AR or something?

It has a built-in Sacred Oath as it's weapon art, pretty damn good imo.

EDIT: It can be buffed, but not infused.

It can be buffed, and any type of buff with Sunlight Sword stacks with it's weapon art, sacred oath.

Plus it's a straight sword so it has R1 spam capabilities.

If anything, you CAN just put the sword on only for the sacred oath art, then switch to a different weapon.

so would I be wrong in thinking since it has inheritent lightning it would benefit from light-based buffs?

Sunlight Straight Sword can't be infused however it can be buffed, and has a wepon art called Oath of Sunlight which ats 11.5% increase to AR and 7.5% dmg absorbtion. It reaches B/B scaling for str and dex.

Its only has phsyical dmg inherantly.

196 base at +5 to be exact.

Yes. Its buff affects the physical AR (+10% iirc).
It doesn't matter what buff you slap on it, but Faith-ones would be smart because it requires a bit af Faith anyways.
