Looking for a UGS for my Quality build

Hello, so, I am working on a quality build. I chose Warrior as my starting class since I don't plan on using spells. I finished the game with the greatsword Claymore and now I wanna give the game a run using the UGS. Just trying to figure out which UGS I should use.

Currently I am running a Zweihander or an Astora Greatsword. Arguing which one I should continue to use.

I also just found the UGS Greatsword. It seems to deal a solid amount more damage than the other two, though it weights twice as much and seems to lack a stabbing attack.

Is the damage of the Greatsword worth the extra 10 units of weight?
How useful is having a stabbing attack?
In my old play through I used the Greatsword once and that was against the Nameless King, because he became much easier to hit when he was on the ground because of the length of the sword compared to my claymore, which couldn't reach the dragons weak spot from time to time.

As for my armor my character wears black leather and black hand gear,along with knight protection ring and I plan on wearing the Wolf ring for extra poise.

The Profaned Greatsword may be what you're looking for. With a 40/40 quality build it has a bit over 600 AR, has a nice moveset, a built in buff, and is rather light for being an ultra greatsword. It's downside is that you can't buff it...but the built in buff from it's weapon art brings it's AR pretty close to 700. I've been using it on my quality build and I can't recommend it enough.

no honest reason. it weighs a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, deals lower base damage than other ultras, requires 10 extra points in strength to wield 1 handed. its only upside is it can be buffed. yay. for a quality build and an ultra greatsword specifically, black knight greatsword is my choice. same weapon art as FUGS, less weight, charged R2's are super satisfying to hit with (sends opponent flying straight up). cant be buffed, is a downside. but compared to all other ultra greatswords i think black knight is the best for quality.

BKGS has the highest damage of UGSs afaik and is way lighter than FUGS, albeit shorter. Its major disadvantage is that it cannot be buffed so if you are a buffer then FUGS may be better.

It does have the highest damage, but only by 7 AR. The Profaned Greatsword hits 605 AR and has a built in buff. I'd say between the two it comes down to which moveset or weapon art that you enjoy more.

I guess I'll have to try it, then. The golf launch attack of BKGS is probably too awesome to give up, though.

Yeah...the lauch attack is pretty damn awesome. The Profaned's flame infused stab sends enemies flying as well though ;) They're both stupidly fun weapons to use.

It's a Boss Soul weapon, you use the soul of Pontiff Sulyvahn to make it.

Anybody have particular UGS preferences that use Normal Titanite to upgrade?

I've heard good things about the Lothric Knight Greatsword, though that's in the later leg of the game (I guess unless you try to kill a certain boss early).

Zweihander, I am using it. I really like it. it's light and still strong, a good sword until you can get something you really like.

Uhhhh I'd say it's around the length of the Astora Greatsword. However I never noticed much difference in length among the ultra greatswords with the exception of the Fume Ultra Greatsword. All in all, it has a lot of reach, esspecially on it's charged R2 which is absolutely devastating if it connects.
