Irithyll Straight Sword worth upgrading?
I am at the point I need to use two twinkling titanite to go to +2, and I wonder if it's worth it. It's such a cool sword and has been really useful to me. So far I just beat Lord Hodnir. Can I undo the upgrade later? I want to do the upgrade but the twinkling titanite was so hard to find.

Yeah it's a decent weapon, not as strong as a Dark Sword but still worth upgrading.

Once you upgrade that upgrade is set for that weapon, there's no undoing reinforcements and getting it back or something.

As for if the sword is good, I don't really know, a lot of people suggest that other longswords are better, since the scaling isn't that great.

You can get a second sword in ng+ and so on if you want to have them with differnt upgrade levels for pvp purposes. Other than that there is no reason to want to downgrade a weapon upgrade level.

yea I have a dark sword too that is +5 because the shards to reinforce that are much easier to find...

I was thinking of having this second sword as an alt because of the 35 frost damage. It also is a litte faster and difference move set. For example it has a straight thrust vs a upper cut for the strong move. So it would work better against certain enemies...

Or should I save the twinkling Titanite. I just don't get why they made it so rare. It doesn't even enchance things that much.
The Irithyll Straight Sword and the Black Knight Greataxe are my favorite weapons atm.

Does pvp not just use your highest upgrade ever? Or does putting a high tier weapon in storage lower your tier?

Sadly not. I hope they patch this, the highest upgraded weapon in your inventory should count for matchmkaing.

Should or Shouldn't?

You're sending mixed messages, hombre.

YES!

This weapon is my baby darling! Fast-ish speed, long range (deceptively so), really nice R2 poke, added frostbite (I am, to this day, not sure what that status effect does...).
It was my first character's main weapon and I wrecked FACE with it so hard.

It goes to +5 max, you're better off upgrading your Longsword or Dark Sword to +10. Plus frostbite is pretty useless, the HP damage and stamina slow is very weak.

I'm not.

Sadly, the highest weapon ever made counts. What it should be like imo: The highest upgraded weapon in your inventory.

There, rephrased just for you.

Invalid logic.
Twinkle-tit weapons only go up to +5 sure, but they get FAR BETTER upgrade bonuses.
*and* the weapon is a quality weapon so at 40\40 you do 300-400 per swing. Charged R2 does 800-1200
