it is actually 4th person, you play it from the perspective of a hidden, purely mathematical dimension.

if dark souls was a FPS, i assume it would just be impossible to play, rolling everywhere. no camera stuck in the wall problem tho'

How could you not find this answer yourself? Every video and screenshot clearly show it's 3rd person.

Maybe look up some gameplay, but yeah. Third person. Only time it's first person is when you manually aim a bow or crossbow, which isn't often - And you don't see your hands or anything.
