Help with Ancient Wyvern

Could someone help me with the ancient wyvern in archdraon peak? :(

Try plunging attack

don't attack it, it's not really a boss fight, more of a 'puzzle'

After walking through the fog door and climbing the steps you want to head left and follow the path around, up the steps and across a few bridges. At some point you'll find yourself in a good position to get a drop attack on the dragon, there'll be orange signs around the area. Just drop attack at the right time and its a 1 hit kill.

yeah, trying to 1v1 the wyvern is like trying to kill Yhorm without the storm sword

I think the wyvern had something like 15k health? in perspective my (pyromancer) was doing like 50 damage to that thing. When that sort of thing happens in Dark Souls, you -know- something is up. Dark Souls isn't really 'difficult', more extremely unforgiving.

Edit: also there is an emphasis on timing this drop attack well, you can completely miss it if you aren't careful.

did you drop down from the stone bit? (you drop from the wooden walkway onto an obvious stone ledge that overlooks the head). Watch out for the head swinging upwards when he spews fire ;)

i finally killed him. thanks for the supporting guys! now i'm facing countless deaths through this map. it's pretty hard here (at least for me).

Black pharis bow upgraded to +9. Use standard arrows and large arrows, make sure you have 99 of both types in your inventory. Then sprint past the dragon, and go to this location:

The wyvern will follow you up until the mosoleum, then when you get in to this position, it will walk back to the location you see in my screenshot.

When it breathes fire at you, there's either an invisible wall between these two pillars, or the flames just can't reach you.

Just sit here in this spot and spam arrows at the dragon. You might be able to get away with a less buffed bow, but I've only been successful with the black pharis.

Now why would you go through all that hassle when you can just one-shot the Wyvern with ONE plunging attack?!
