And now what?
Did i miss something in the plot? Should I (and could I) try this fight again?

Thanks

You can try again if you want. But you need to do so before you kill the boss in that area or he will stop invading you.

So I have to do what? Go at the bridge and ember me again?
And do I earn something by doing so? Something useful?

Yes, you need to ember up again and no you don't get anything special out of it.

So not worth the ember I think :) Thanks

another one in need of some fat aids. git well soon.
as far as i know killing him will give you a vertabrea shackle, one of the covenant items. this one is used for the Mound Makers covenant. alone it doesn't do anything, need a lot more to get any sort of reward from the covenant. BUT pickle-pee likes them, not sure what she gives tho but it's obviously rare, pickle-pee being the crow on top of Firelink Shrine's roof.

I died to hodrick on my first playthrough like 4 times in a row. Dude is a parry god
harf4ng Feb 14, 2019 @ 11:30am
I had the pleasure to see the hodrick mad phantom died on mobs when I summoned him, and he helped me a bit killing an invader.

Unsure how he helped me as I didn't see the action, and the invader came to me full life, but maybe the invader had to use a bit of spells on him or something like that. But I was able to kill the invader :) Was a pleasure ^^

Wonder, when we kill an invader we get a part of his equipment, that's right? I got a weapon and a hat this time. Stuff I do not want but hey... why not...

Walking and hunting emberred is very stressing though, I barely dare to engage powerful enemies, with the fear I'm beeing invaded...

Eh, some phantoms aren't players. If you killed a purple phantom at the start named Holy Knight Hodrick, that was an NPC. If you were in the swamp and came across a red Yellow-Finger Hazel or something like that, who mostly uses sorceries and this weird pickaxe/staff weapon with a rediculous mushroom hat, that was an NPC too. You don't get anything from killing players in YOUR world (if they invade you) except the souls they had (I think). If you invade others tho, you get embers, that much I do know.

Play offline. No danger of player invasions. There are still NPC invasions, but those make for good practice if nothing else. They are not random either, they happen in specific locations if specific conditions are met.
