Claymore has always been popular. Pretty reliable PvE and PvP weapon. Though I think some people only use it because of Chase, same with the Lorian's Crown.

Dark Souls 3 Youtuber. Not as popular as Fighter, but he mostly uses claymore, and I've seen people make copies of his builds.

Can't go wrong with a claymore, it works for most builds. I'm sure most people use it out of convenience (even though I don't use it very often).

It really is a fun and good weapon, though Gael's is my favourite. Got the claymore R2 but a much more fun weaponart, especially the L2 R2 part.

im just asking because ive been playing this game for forever and never seen such a boom of claymores.

Yea, I second that it is mostly because of the Youtuber. I'm checking his channel frequently to see what build people are copying next so what to expect in mid level PvP.

People have been using the Claymore since ages. It isn't mainly because of Chase even if I do believe that he's an influencer.

Yes, because claymores aren't extremely easy to dodge, at all. No really. *monotone*

So is any weapon that's slow than it, doesn't mean it's not a good weapon.

Any weapon is useful if you master it.

I'm glad to know that there really is a culprit behind this lol. so many claymores now. It is an easy weapon to dodge, but that near 360 degree swing is great vs ganks.

By the way, if someone is locked onto you and spam R1 while 2-handed you can easily run around them for a backstab. Only time it doesn't work is if they unlock and turn during their attacks, but it's really rare for someone to do that.

Works with any greatsword besides the Drakeblood and hollowslayer I believe. Never tested it on them, but I doubt it'd work since they have the unique moveset.

There's not much else you can do with the claymore besides two handing R1's and trying to rollcatch with 1handed R1's. Maybe the occasional weapon art vs a shield user but kicking seems to work just as well and the weapon art is easy to avoid

I don't know what people think these "skilled" claymore users are doing, inventing new attacks that the game doesn't have??
