Difficulty rating of slave knight Gael?

My impression of this fight is a bit skewed simply because I have fought him so many times I can solo a ng+9 version of him without difficulty. Still, his attack patterns, while fairly easy to see, always keep me on my toes even when I never get hit. It seems his attacks are a pretty good balance as far as telegraph:attack goes. He has three phases, and each one requires a different strategy to combat effectively. My opinion is that phase 1 is the hardest, phase 2 is the easiest, and phase 3 is somewhere in the middle.

I'm curious, whats the community rating of this boss? Do you find him easy or extremely challenging? Are his attacks fair or are the bullsh#t? Also do you think this guy is an appropriate "true final boss" of the game, and who is effectively the primary vessel of the Dark Soul?

Very difficult the first go at him, easier the second time, and a cake walk the third time.
I find Friede to be more difficult, she'll often force me to go to my ss in the last stage and the second stage is very annoying with her always being on your ass.

Agreed, Friede is probably the most difficult boss, but like most staggerable enemies, smart use of the Farron greatsword will still mess her up.

I personally don't find the farron gs to be fun, so. :/

Really? Thats surprising considering how ridicoulous the dual-wielded L2 looks. Its also a great way for cheesing all kinds of enemies, who just do not know how to deal with that attack pattern.

well, i dont think he is that dificult, first go i had on him I nearly got him, you just have to not be greedy, easy to know wich and atacs he does, you just have to be presise on your dodging wich you shopuld be considering its probabely your last boss in the game, it was for me.

But i defnitly dont think friede is the most dificult, it is Pontif sulyhvan at nr1 and the lothic prince and lorinan couple at nr 2

Gael isn't too bad, he just hurts like pi.ss. Plus, poison practically cuts his balls off.

If you have a weapon that can knock her down or stunlock her, easy win. I did a chaos dagger + hornet ring run on her and it was actually pretty da.mn easy.

Gael is really a breeze after going through the moronic bosses that are Friede, Demon Prince and Midir. Great fight, absolutely fair and skilled based, and that's why it's easier.

Well friede is difficult because phase 3 combo-spamming. Midir just has a massive health pool and huge area attacks. I honestly didn't think the demon princes were that bad if you summoned just one phantom.

I find dancer to be ez pz too, but that's because I've got her rhythm down.

Ironically, I find Soul of Cinder and the Twin Princes the hardest bosses in the game at ng +7 and beyond.
