What is the best katana in the game right now?

I would like to know what is the best katana in the game right now, and also which one is the best for my build of 66 str/ 40 dex (with 48 inte and 45 faith). I have heard that Chaos blade is the best but Uchigatana is better because it uses some strenght too, but I have always used quality/str weapons so I have no idea hahaha

Frayed=Best Quallity

For your build i would do Dark Black but thats because ive adapted to short range.

With Dark Black, do u mean Black Blade or Dardrift? xD

Mhm black blade gives me 412 dmg and Frayed Blade, counting the dark dmg, gives me 478, 402 without dark, so maybe the best dmg is Frayed Blade, and counting its weapon arts, probably it is the one who can earn the most dmg in a combo.

different animals. Everyone tends to have low dark defense. Also WA is way diffrerent and comes down to what you enjoy. Dont forget chip dmg through shields is most def. a thing. you can use both since you arent capping your level.

Well, I have just got all the katanas with 66 str and 40 dex, and I found that the best dmg is from Frayed Blade if we count the dark as I said in the last comment, and after this comes the Chaos Blade, with 421 AR, BUT the Washing pole which has the best range, have the same AR than Black Blade, with 412 and it also can be buffed with spells or resines. So this post can stay here for all people who wants to know what is the best weapons with the 66 str and 40 dex that people use to get in lvls 200 or similar with all slab-upgraded, the best katana is the Frayed Blade unless we take the Washing Pole (better range than BB) with resins or spells.

The Chaos blade is probably the most balanced one, though it is definetly for DEX builds. It has longer range that other katanas, beside the washing pole, because of its longer blade. It also does more cumulative damage with high DEX stats than any other katana per hit, besides maybe the frayed blade. Its only side effect would be it takes off a small portion of your health with each hit to an enemy, but this is easily countered by having the sun princess ring, or an offhand blessed weapon +10. The main weakness of this weapon is that it cannot be buffed, but it does enough damage for me (as a DEX build) to outweight other katanas for general use. I do however use the washing pole if invaded. It also does bleed damage like most katanas.

You mean the slowest dual-wield weapons in the game? The ones whos base damage is so spread out that it cannot effectively damage anything to any great degree? And whose L2 is flashy but has very poor range, poor damage, and leaves you WIDE open to counterattack from longer weapons?
