Is the dark sword good as a sorcerer melee weapon?

Still good. But I'd rather use the Longsword. Or Lothric Knight if you don't have an issue with the higher requirements.

I think people overexaggerate how badly the Dark Sword was nerfed. It's actually pretty muchly as good as any other straight sword. The downside is that it requires a lot of stat investment for a caster build. You're better off going with the normal Longsword and infusing it with Crystal.

the corvian greatknife is amazing if you have some dexterity. its weapon art is perfect against turtles and can catch people if you chase them correctly, and the weapon itself has great range with the dagger moveset (think between shortsword and longsword, and up to dark sword counting its moveset). it's easily my favorite weapon besides the hallowslayer, and it can be infused with crystal.

Has the best damage output on a standard sl 120 build at 186 at +10, but I prefer the standard Dagger just because of that Crit. And back to OP's question, just use the Lothric Knight Straight Sword or Longsword.

well for one it's a ss so it's inherently good but for a sorcery build the lotheric knight ss whould be better

If you want some fun though, you could also use the heysel pick.

Aquamarine dagger is my goto. It does a ton of damage really quick if you use it correctly. And if you are going to use a shield...stone parma is a perfect match.
