Thoughts on Dark Souls movie adaption?

Do you think if there is a Dark Souls movie in the making, will you be get excited for it?

Or what kind of setting, era or story ideas you will eant from it?

I really hope maybe one day we will get something like this movie where Darkness take over the livings, plot already used in many movies but not in the way of Dark Souls game are, Dark souls have potential for a movie adaption.

Maybe your thoughts on this?

Dark Souls and Bloodborne are one of those games that flourish because they are games. No other medium is able to have this kind of narration. One way or another, games turned into movies are just usually mediocre. Look at Hitman.

You are right, i agree also AC, NFS, and many other game based movies were mediocre.

If you want something make good, this will take time to do something charismatic in character depths, better story telling, no pointless action scenes/cgi and focused project making.

Just like The Walking Dead originally started as comic book and goes upto blockbuster AmC tv series. Starting seasons upto 5 were good, but after season 6 makers were less focusing on good quality story and since then going downhill in viewers and quality both. (Still i love TWD series )

Main story lines and goal of player character from Ds1 and Ds3? Nope.
I would love to see animated series(even short) with various stories from games:
- Manus and Oolacile
- 4 Kings and New Londo
- Rise of Gwyn and war with dragons
- perhaps even Anor Londo
- The Ringed City in full glory
- false Onion bro and his friendship with that one Giant
- and of course Gwynevere

i think it would work as an anime series, but not as a movie. especially not some hollywood ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie with a mandatory happy end.

just imagine. dark souls the movie. starring ben affleck as "the ashen one" and emilia clarke as "the fire keeper" (gotta milk that game of thrones fame while it lasts). or simlar.
i wouldn't even want to see it if i got paid for it.

A movie wouldn't be good. It would just be pointless given what we already know, and if it remains true to the way DS tells its lore (which is to say, it doesn't) then nobody would have any idea wtf was going on by the end.

But it could happen anyway, because some people cannot be dissuaded from obviously horrible ideas, and some other people are so stupid they actually decide to try it. Like trying to turn everything into live-action film(we've all seen that blue abomination).

Nah, movies and books can ABSOLUTELY 100% have this kind of narration it just isn't that common. Consider some books from a wolf or other animals point of view, tribal's point of views, some character lost alone traveling point of view, etc. It basically follows very similarly. Instead, though, taking the approach such as Lord of the Rings is far more effective. The way DS series handles it creates some intrigue but also allows the developers to, frankly, be lazy AF with minimal effort on this front. It wouldn't hold up as a movie in this state, there is next to no story and lore is actually much more minimal than some may realize (especially across short periods of times which is most important for a story to be told unlike large gaping periods of time that it heavily utilizes).

Hitman's issue is it has literally nothing to do wit Hitman basically. Lol

If the move would get releaseed in the same state as in trailer it would be Fallout 76 of movies.

Yes, because making a live-action sonic the hedgehog was such a brilliant idea in the first place, right? There's noooo way that will backfire horrendously, probably killing the entire genre of whatever it's supposed to be (which I suppose would be "live action adaptations")...on second thought, I'm down with that.
