Can i get banned because another player modified my character?

so i was invading in Pontif SL120 as usual when i invaded someone with the exact same name as me. Another red invader attacked me but i was oddly regenerating health quicker than i could lose it, and as the red attacked me he would be zapped back and his character model would be deformed. The other red was then backstabbed and cursed, as the "hollowing reversed" text flashed up on my screen. I tired to black crystal out but it flung me up in the air and didn't let me leave the obviously hacked world. In the end i was killed by the hacker and i got a bunch of invasion items like concords, tongues and sunlight medals. when i returned to my world some strange text "?ActionEventInfo?" popped up on my screen for a few seconds.
To be safe, I dropped every single one of my invasion items as i didn't have too many anyway and i didn't want these cheated in items.

A few invasions later i invaded the same hacker again. Black crystal didn't work so i promptly commited suicide off a ledge. But things got REALLY strange where the wedding sequence where the character stabs Anri's corpse played, only this time Anri had a TINY head and my character model had no armour on and was female, despite the fact that my character is male. I returned home with the same text as before and realised i had 999999999 (or something) souls.
It sucks cuz my last character backup is ages ago and i dont really know what to do.

guys, DS3's pvp watchdog claims to disable the game's normal "anti-cheat", so maybe using it saves you from these unfair bans (if they actually happen).

also, I would tell you to use my browser extension to automatically block known cheaters, but the server that hosts it is broken right now >_>

I have my doubts. There's the ban wave that happened with a certain version that banned a lot of players that were using it. Maybe it's not completely disabled and just bypassed for certain triggers? I don't know but they messed up bad in that one. I'm glad I wasn't using it and stood with the old blocking way. They even removed their "if you think this banned you you are dumb lol".

In other words, it skirts the anti-cheat but does not disable it in any fashion.

I don't know what they did but if you read what they wrote, basically they got in a hurry to release it and didn't properly test everything. now they say they aren't gonna do that anymore and updates are so slow because they need to wait weeks to see if their accounts get banned every time they change something.

So everything reverted to normal except you had a lot of souls which you got rid of immediately? I'm not seeing any reason at all to be concerned. Thus far it certainly wouldn't be any evidence that hackers can get you banned without picking up candy off the ground like others might want to claim.

As you haven't complained about being banned you clearly didn't get banned in the end which just reinforces what we have been saying all along. It would be nice if people don't fear monger the threat of hackers as being more than they are. Just don't pick up candy.
