I don't know that they're OP, but certainly deal some pretty significant damage in the right hands with the right weapon buffs.

No. They hit like a truck but they lack range, HA and are easy to parry. Not to mention that the tracking on the second L1 is unreliable. They're good, but not "toptier good".

SSs, fast CSs and MHS are still the kings.

I don't understand the acronyms
Nothing is overpowered and nothing is really underpowered. Some weapons are good in PvE but so easy to counter in PvP, other weapons are great in PvP but just not powerful enough to make PvE satisfying.

PvP is all about landing hits without taking them. Fast is better then strong. Whips, for example are one of the best PvP weapon classes but only the Witch's Locks deal enough damage for PvE use.

Similarly, you'd never really use the Farron spells in PvE but they're the go-to spells for PvP. They're fast and easy to hit. I've won more PvP by wearing my opponent down than splatting them in a few hits.

No weapon is over powered. Everything has been nerfed so much that it all adds up to the same amount of damage. I guess there might be a few garbage weapons but aside from those it doesn`t really matter what you use.

There is only one overpowered weapon: The broken sword! God tier weapon in the right hands, its unstoppable!

The true meta is the iron round shield. :^)

I don't understand the acronyms
HA: hyper armor.
SSs: straight swords.
Case: curved swords.
MHS: Murky Hand Scythe.

Lol the MHS had me stumped as well because the S had me thinking something something sword not scythe :steamhappy:

I had to google wtf MHS was. Then i wanted to facepalm because I realized Murk hand Scythe is a thing.

Best to just say the full name tbh

Twinaxes are still ok tbh, i would just offhand a rapier something to deal with tougher phantoms.

Twinaxe pros include one of the best estus punishes and good potential for stamina management.
+ It keeps the majority of you ring slots free since it does well enough on its own. Great synergy with most rings though so that is a big bonus.

Straightswords are versatile but limited to a passive bait then attack style.

Curved swords suffer from the same issue as straightswords but arent as good against ganks. However some are arguably better even if not as versatile, than straightswords in a 1v1.

The murky hand scythe is a weird one with the extended stagger frames it has while you two hand it. This makes it very good at pressure in the short term with very few true counters to it. Curved swords / iron round shield is a good place to start if you're concerned about it though.

Finally the iron round shield is just the best example of a shield that can be used in any situation.

High stability and medium/small shield startup and duration on its parey frames.

That moment when you realize that simply moving in the opposite direction from normal throws off people that much...
