left? a lot of people say right. I just know I've been trying it something like 2 hours and only got at most 4 hits on the second phase

Try and bait him and keep your distance. The moves where he dashes towards you give enough time to react and a good amount of time to get a few hits in and falling back. Always try to punish on the last hit of his multi hit combo (where he flies up in the air and creates a small explosion on landing) as its easy to dodge and leaves him open.

Its all about timing, attack after a combo, get in one or two hits then back off.
Dont be greedy and try for more.

Yeah good advice. Always too greedy trying to get another hit.... I shouldn't do it

I found it easy enough when he goes for his 3rd attack in a chain (specifically the one where he flips in the air) I can roll directly towards him, pass just pass him, and always have time for a backstab. Just a suggestion to try.

Backstab him.

For the absolute ez mode:

Run a str build, get Vordt's Greathammer.

Use the weapon art and trade him to death, he gets staggered while you don't.

I don't think you even need a greathammer, I have seen a guy stunlock him to death with a flamberge, so I guess any greatsword will do?
