Effective way to kill black knight

at the crabs infected swamp. Just before the crystal dragon. I need his shield...

I wanna know if there is a quick way to kill it, although I can solo kill that beast but my death rate is 50%...

I know backstab can be helpful, but the thing is, back stabbing him once isn't enough to eliminate half his hp.
And worse, this guy chased me even to bonfire, he hates me so much...

Any effective(genius) way to kill it?

lol i just had a hardtime with that as*hole. farmed 100+k souls outside abbys watchers area then I discovered the shortcut to road of sacrifices and tried to add him to my farming routine and he killed me once. tried revenge he killed me again without getting the retrieval. souls are all gone, got up, rushed with rage and weasingly beat him with only roll attacks from my sh*tty +4 zweihander. tried it 10+ more times, he never killed me once. never got any loot except for embers. dark souls 3 is <3

I always back up my save or spent all my souls before doing some dangerous things. There is an automatic game saver on Nexus, you can google it.
Don't worry it won't get you banned. However, the game saver saves where you rest at the bonfire.

It has been awhile since I fought one but I believe he has an overhead attack. It's super easy to parry.

you just gotta play defensive. dont over-combo, get your one or 2 hits in when he has a pause and get to safety again. dont try to overdo it, just be very methodical and err on the side of caution. spacing is also insanely effective against PVE because they never start swinging until you are IN their range, as opposed to starting a swing in anticipation of you being in range which pvp opponents are capable of. so, you can run backwards from him, bait him to start chasing you, and suddenly turn and spank him once or twice then roll away and repeat.

After killing 30 or so black knights, I think the best way is to dodge.
Their movements have large intervals, you can hit ONE hit (not two hits, not enough time), then roll back.
Shields won't help, because they have a 3 series hits which normally consumes all your stamina.

Yeah best way is to equip the dark hand and just punch it 3-4 times. Seriously that thing is to strong.

You did it, well done. :) I´ve done the same thing you did, I´d have offered advice earlier, but really, the best thing is to do what you did, as I, as many others, to smash ones head into the obstacle until one masters the moves and timing of the obstacle.

Dark knights are weak to blunt and cold damage. So the easiest way is with Vort's Great Hammer. Twohand it, run towards him, dont lock on.

When he attacks you, roll straight through his sword and land two quick hits from behind. Two is enough to both poise break and frost bite him. If you have enough stamina, hit him a third time while he is stunned. If the hammer is +2 then he will die from the third hit. If less he'll need 4 or 5 hits.

Easy peasy.

I don't want to spoil the game for you.....seems like off that particular black knight all I got off from him were gauntlets,but if you are looking for the full set keep them...later in the game you'll get more Black Knights in which to complete the whole set.

That guy gave me a lot of trouble early on. Just like any other enemy, you have to learn his attack patterns and pick your shots. I pretty much walk all over black knights now, but they do hit hard with their combos so I don't take them lightly.

There are ways to cheese him, like others have mentioned. But I always feel bad about cheesing the humanoid enemies. With all the cheap ass monsters you have to fight, you should show some respect to the ones who fight you like a man.

Walk towards him like your going to do a backstab.
When your foot hits the first stair do a strong attack, at this point the knight will turn around and do a strike. But it seems that when he does this he turns around again so he hits the other direction. This gives you time to get another two heavy strikes in.
That should get him down to more then 50%.

Edit: this works 100% on PS4 I can't say for sure on PC.

I exchanged Vort's souls for left eye of Pontiff. Also, I don't think I can wield that harmer cause I'm currently playing knight build.

I think it's kinda luck thing that he hits another direction. I mean I have seen he hits the wrong direction while standing on stairs, but it doesn't happen very often.
Moreover, the stairs give so little space that you literally can't dodge his heavy attack....

And one more thing, for those players whose hp is below 1000, don't save Ersta. Always drink to full health in battle. Cause 2 hits from him and your 80% of health will be gone.

And, although some advice says taking the cut to his back, then try sneak behinds him and backstab.
I haven't succeeded in this thing even once. Cause every time I was near enough to perform a backstab, he turns 90 degrees around and it's impossible to be quick enough to move behind him...
