How does bleed work on bosses?
Since the Frayed blade is pretty cool I've started using it but I'm not sure about the way bleed works on enemies.

When you hit them enough times (like using the Heavy weapon arts with this) and go past their bleed threshold they bleed but here' my question. Do they bleed once or is there some sort of bar/timer and they bleed again after some time like we do?

Thanks

They use the same bleed bar we use.

So if I make them bleed could I just run around and wait for them to bleed out?

thats not how bleed works! you hit him with a bleed dealing weapon that does like 30 bleed damage, once the bosses bleed bar is full, you will do a one hit extra damage and the bosses bleed bar will be reseted.

Status Debuffs in a nutshell

Poison
When bar fills up target is poisoned. Takes dmg ever few seconds and lasts till the bar empties.
(Player inflicted poison now does more dmg over a shorter amount of time)

Toxic
When bar fills up target is toxiced. Take a large amount of dmg until the bar empties.

Curse
When bar fills up you die instantly.

Frost
When bar fills up you take a % of your total hp in dmg and have reduced defense and stamina regen. Stamina regen and reduced defense lasts until the bar empties.

Bleed
Target takes a % of there total hp in dmg. Can not be bleed again until the bar empties.

So to answer your question OP, when you bleed a boss the lose a chunk of there hp, and are immune to further bleed attempts until there invisible bleed bar empties.

That's why I was asking, because if I remember correctly as a player the bar will rise and hit you more than once.

Thanks for the clarification.

Fun fact Frost is basically Dark Souls 2 version of bleed. While bleed is darksouls 1 version of it.

I see. I really have to start using status effects. I have always gone for max physical damage and nothing else.

Frost also causes vulnerability while it's lingering effects wear off
