Weresheep quest broken?

So I'm trying to backtrack to complete Weresheep quest, so I went back to Cave of Portals where you dig up the ghost of Weresheep.
The guide tells me to enter the left portal, which is ice, but it only sends me back to the middle portal, and all other portals in the same room do the same, except the said middle portal which sends me to the library. I can't seem to get to the "grassy area" to dig up the damn sheeps body.

This game ♥♥♥♥♥ up a lot of quests if you don't do the game in the order designers intended you to. Is this one of them?

Are you using mods? I have played the game countless times with multiple playthroughs never talking to ghost weresheep (sometimes rushing the tree as early as lv 10) and it has never failed...

Have you found and read the weresheep armor recipe found in King B. treasure vault or the weresheep book found in Cyseal?

I only have two journal entries for the legend of the where sheep, the first one is I found a piece of parchment in the library and the last living were sheep can only be found in the cave of portals, the next one is I found a recipe for making armor combine wool with elemental forge. so yes I read them both and they're both still in my inventory

There is a book buried in the cemetary beside the cathedral/church in Cyseal, have you read that one? I would also like to see a screenshot of you throwing a stardust on the ground in front of the tree just to make sure it is the right tree/area...

Big gnarly tree with glowing blue runes with an entrance that looks like there's a tunnel but you can't go in? i'll go check the cemetery

I just reread that you also can't interact with the tree itself... Very odd... Might wanna give a verify data run on your DOS:EE just in case...

all files verified went back to tree no change, going back still looking for a book

OK found the legend of the weresheep book went back to the tree tried again no dice. but I did get a quest update when I found it

Are you dropping the stardust herb (not ground bag of stardust) in front of the tree ( about 3-4 meters away) and waiting? Takes about 45 seconds before the weresheep pops in.

check the ♥♥♥ you can clearly see the herb. and as stated in previous posts I dropped 10 of them all over the place

seriously, this close to the end of the game I really don't care about some sheep armor, but just admit it's bugged. I believe I have provided more than enough proof. and as long as we are problem-solving, why can't I interact with the kick starter tree?

Yep, exactly... Something is going wrong here that has nothing to do with the quest but your game/save... You should be able to interact with the tree, that not working has nothing to do with the weresheep quest line...

Bugs in game/ with save files = without a doubt
Bugged quests = not without a bugged game/save
Dead end quests = I am sure there could be though I have not seen/experienced any

As I have said, I have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this quest multiple times without killing/talking to the ghost weresheep; I have also completed the Nick questline exactly how I described... Once again though I don't run mods and my system is solid, haven't run into a dead end quest (and there is a difference between a "dead end quest" and a "bugged quest") personally a single time...

1. The book "The Legend Of The Weresheep" can be found in the graveyard, to the West of the old church in Cyseal. You can see a small mound (if you have high enough Perception). Using a shovel on it will discover the book hidden there. Read the book to start the quest.

2. Inside Boreas's Treasure Room in Hiberheim Castle, you can find on one of the tables a note labelled "The Last Weresheep". Read it to update the quest.

3. In the laboratory in Maradino's Lair, you will find a note called "Weresheep Recipe". Read it to find out that the Weresheep likes Stardust and that its body will be found in the Dark Forest.

Edit: just read you posts again and saw that you had done all of these... Hahahaha
