Skill Book level not showing
The Level of the Skill Books (Novice, Adept, Master) are not showing in my Game. This makes it hard to buy the right spells. I have seen Let's Play Videos and it normaly shows the Skill Level in the Skill Book description, but not in my game. Is this a known bug? I have already verified my Files, but i could not find anything why this is happening.

This is a bug that came about in the final CN patch a couple of years ago, at least that is what happened on the GOG version (I'm not sure about if that bug is also on the Steam version too). Larian is aware of this bug yet has never patched it (like many other bugs which they are also aware of and have never patched, but none as game-breaking as this one IMO...at least in terms of bugs that they can easily fix).

The workaround on the GOG version is to revert to the non-CN version of the patch via GOG Galaxy. I'm not sure what the workaround is on Steam though. If you are on the Steam version and you can switch to the non-CN version somehow though, then try that.

But Larian really needs to patch this on the GOG version, because customers who don't use the Galaxy client software are stuck with this bug, and also they have no option to download the non-bugged version since GOG doesn't offer that as a download option.

Sounds like a unique bug. You looking at the right spot?

Top section:
Skill/Item Name (Rain, ThunderJump, Encourage) Skillbook
Elemental Type (Hydro, Pyro, Aero)
**Skill Level (novice, adept, master) **
Text (Lore/statement of what the spell do)

Here's a temporary guide until someone fixes it.
https://divinityoriginalsin.wiki.fextralife.com/Skills
https://divinity.fandom.com/wiki/Avatar_of_Storms_(DOS_EE)

Or general summary:
Novice skills usual don't have level requirements
Adapt skills has level requirements 6-14 (mass slow is 15)
Master skills lv requirement 15.

Thx for the Answers, i have the GOG Version and it was indeed a Problem with the latest Version. The solution was to revert back to Version 2.0.119.430 (A).

The Steam version is fine (and someone reported fixing the GOG version by replacing the game.pak file in the GOG install folder with one from the Steam install; not sure if that is the only file with an issue, though).
We contacted GOG about this some time ago.
