The workaround on the GOG version is to revert to the non-CN version of the patch via GOG Galaxy. I'm not sure what the workaround is on Steam though. If you are on the Steam version and you can switch to the non-CN version somehow though, then try that.
But Larian really needs to patch this on the GOG version, because customers who don't use the Galaxy client software are stuck with this bug, and also they have no option to download the non-bugged version since GOG doesn't offer that as a download option.
