it would take a lot of time to teach
I suggest you download CCleaner, it automatically searches your registery and you can disable/enable with 1 click

What windows are you on?
If you are on Windows 10 and i think also 8 and up
You can just press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Then go to the Startup tab, and disable CC from there

See if that helps?

Abut the issue it self, are you running CC as admin? maybe it dose not have admin rights to stop it self from starting at startup

I downloaded ccleaner and it didn't work simply because controller companion is not on the list. Ctrl+Shift+Esc also didn't work for the same reason. I closed controller companion and started it as admin just to be sure but the option to turn off Run on Startup is still greyed out. For now I'm just manually exiting CC in the tray everytime I boot up my PC but I wish for a better option xd

If you untick 'Run on admin popups', the button right of run on startup - you should get the option to untick run on start up

For some reason you have to untick the option to run on admin popups to disable CC on launch

the reason u have to disable that setting before u can disable run on startup is that same setting also enables being able to use a controller to log into ur PC after restarting not just admin popups, there for that setting needs the run on startup enabled to be enabled itself

press the windows key and the letter i at the same time to get settings up, look up " startup apps " and you can turn off and turn on whichever apps you don't want or want when you have to turn on / reset your computer
