WTF crystal guardian?!

the actual lasers are pretty easy to dodge. Failing that, running into him gives you invuln for a few seconds and only costs 1 hp: Between eating a laser or touch damage take the touch damage.

if you dont have it already, the shade cloak helps greatly with the fight

Right after I said that, I tried one last time and got him. Mask piece was my last too so WORTH IT!!

If you kill the second Crystal Guardian and die at the same time, the mask door doesn't open. Kinda sucks :/

just did him and found out if you stand against the right side door the top lasers never hit you and he missed like 75% of his lasers so you just stand there and occasionally have to jump

Tip for other people still trying: Use Joni's Blessing, you won't be able to heal anyway.

yeah the second part was kinda frustrating,, joni's blessing and the other one so you have lke 14 blues, and the damage invul for a bit longer, the invul one makes it worth to facetank and then dodge when possible..... for some reason i had a hell of a time fighting the soul master i think was the name . oh and white palace... gah...

Crystal Guardian 2 is probably my least favourite boss fight in the game. He has a similar problem to the dream bosses in that he's just a mechanical repeat with everything sped up and dealing more damage, except it feels particularly egregious in this instance since you only have two very straightforward attacks to deal with. It's a very simple encounter with some knobs tweaked to make it harder in the least interesting way possible, which in turn incentivises using an equally uninteresting rush down tactic to beat it.

This fight is a joke with Stalwart Shell + Joni's Blessing + Lifeblood Heart + Quick Slash. Face tank and enjoy the shard.

This strategy works pretty well on most bosses. Like Hornet in Kingdom's Edge. I face-rolled right over her. Still, The game maintains some challenge.

also if you soul blast hornet the first time and thats the killing blow it won't drop anything or unlock the door.. dunno if it always happens, it just happened once

You know optional hard as balls battles would be fine if the game didn't hold my corpse with 6000 ducats on it hostage in rooms that lock me in with the thing that killed me.
At least those dream bosses have the curtesy to not take your ♥♥♥♥ so you can take your business elsewhere.

I just beat this thing just to get my things back and it wasn't fun.
