Can the Hollow Knight be damaged by Flukenest?
It kinda feels like it does nothing to him. I'm speedrunning and using the flukenest + shade soul + shaman stone, but it REALLY doesn't look like it damages him.

Bugs. As much as I love this game, the game's code quality is... not something I'd give my approval in a code review. For the longest time, the Failed Champion would be completely invincible to Flukenest as well.

Coincidentally, using Flukenest since it's been nerfed might not actually be useful. The max damage Flukenest will do with the Shaman Stone equipped is 80, but Shade Soul with the Shaman Stone equipped will also deal 80 damage to big targets, or any targer susceptible to knockback. In other words, you're spending valuable notches on what's essentially just a reduction in attack range.

That's a good point, you're probably right about that. This game has so many glitchs/bugs in it I'm surprised TC hasn't released more updates to fix'em.

Okay, thanks. While I'm still not sure if he takes damage, bug or not, the Shade Soul argument is nonetheless pretty convincing. :D I assume he gets double hits from the knockback? I'll definitely try that.

I don't think the Hollow Knight can be knocked back, I think he, as well the projectile, might be big enough that they connect twice. Not sure though, but it's definitely worth trying.

u can try installing a hp bar mod to see if ur doing any damage
Scorp721 Feb 24, 2019 @ 9:29am
Just tried it with hp bar mod Flukenest (+ shaman stone) does no dmg to hollow knight. Tried it on 2 diff save files one with Void Heart and one without it since it changes the spell. or at least it changes the look of the spell dunno for sure if it changes the dmg since neither version hurt him.

Also found out while he is stabbing himself he takes reduced dmg. Always went ham on him while he was stabbing himself thinking it was effective but the hp bar barely moves during that.

Yeah, I was going to say that he takes 1 damage from everything while stabbing himself, but figured you probably already knew that if you were asking...
