Hollow Knight
How many other vessels survived the fall?
Spoilers ahead!

So, as we know, the vessels where thrown into the abyss to see which ones would be reanimated by the void, and climb back up. (at least thats my opinion) So, Theres THE Hollow knight, our knight, the broken vessel, and the vessel killed by hornet. (you get the shade cloak from it in your first battle with her) As a side question, how many vessels has hornet killed?
Final question: At the begining of the game, Hornet states she knows who we are, what we're trying to do, and she can't allow it. What is she refering to? She knows what the vessels are, and what their purpose is. Did she not know about the sealed vessel being defective, and you breaking the dream seals a bad thing?

There's at least one other vessel hanging from Nosk's ceiling too. There seems to have been a fair bunch of them.

I think Hornet was trying to prevent you from breaking the dream seals on the basis that you would not be able to contain the infection yourself - if the Hollow Knight failed, why would this random vessel be any better? Although that depends on whether she knew what went wrong with the Hollow Knight in the first place.
Nosk doesn't really count, because he copied Hornet in the new Godmaster thing and there's for sure only one Hornet.

I wonder if it was possible that maybe other vessels could have succeeded, I mean, we did, didn't we?

I checked out the Nosk boss room. Correct me if I am wrong but there are about 4 or 5 vessels hanging from the ceiling. Two of them can be seen clearly at the center of the boss room while another two can be seen somewhat blurry at the background. A silhouette at the top right of the background appears to be a clock that is similar to the clocks of the other vessels.

Nosk may not be a Vessel itself, but there are multiple Vessel corpses in Nosk's lair. The WInged Nosk may be a more advanced species that can create its own disguises.
I thought pale king is still alive and hiding at outside of Hallownest now. He keep creating vessel and send them back to Hallownest. (because we seem to come from somewhere beyond king pass in opening cutscene)
Maybe I'm wrong :hollowknight:

Well, according to the Godseeker, the Pale King seems to have been erased, only leaving behind an afterglow of his power that was still strong enough to bring the Godseeker to Hallownest.

So he is either dead, or in some other dimension. Otherwise the Godseeker would be able to track him down.

Interestingly, while the Godseeker does attempt to attune with Higher Beings(with mixed results), such as Unn, the Pale Lady, the Pale King, Nightmare's Heart, The Radiance, and the Shade Lord... there is no mention of Mr.Mushroom the Master Herald, who also is hinted to be a Higher Being. Perhaps the Master Herald is so powerful that the Godseeker cannot even comprehend it?
There's also the Lifeblood creature in the Abyss, which the Godseeker does appear to be attuned to, and has created a facsimile of if in the Binding Room. Is that a Higher Being aswell? It seems like it could be one, but what to call such a creature?

Hmm, there are some creatures that may be not vessels but "void creatures" or at least creatures strongly influenced be the void. All of these creatures have in common that the spread these black orbs or drops or whatever when you hurt them. Some of them even may dissolve into liquid void if defeated:
- The Collector (black creature that dissovles into a black mass if defeated)
- Zote (visually resembles a vessel and explosed into black drops if defeated)
- The snail shamans: The may not be vessels but their bodies resemble that of void creatures... well or maybe they are just really black snails, who knows. ;)

Don't forget Zote has run into one or two to know how to imitate them. He looks a lot like a vessel but has personality.

The collector seems to be an escaped Kingsmould, who were also void creatures.

Hmm, he has roughly the same size and four arms. Could be true.

Zote's dream version explodes into Void. The real Zote does not.

Zote actually appears to be the same species as the Elderbug. All Vessels have sharp horns, while Elderbug and Zote have dull horns. Vessels do not have mouths, but Elderbug and Zote do.

Zote is most likely a bas-tard (weird word to censor) of the grey king, like hornet. His dreamversion is gray prince Zote, after all. So I would say he is a vessel.

Yes, thank you! I wholly agree. Zote =/= Vessel.

Isn't there a mold for the collector though? Don't get me wrong, l like the idea, but I think the collector was specifically created for... something. Maybe he was originally intended to go and collect escaped Vessels?
