Ah, yes. Sorry. I'm more used to leaving that station, rather than entering it. If you got the tram pass, from Deepnest, you can use the tram to escape. Otherwise, you have to use the Mantis Claw to climb up the way you came. Difficult, but possible. I know from experience. If you haven't used a bench in the Ancient Basin yet, you can exit out to the main menu, and the you should be back at the last bench you visited.
It's a rare case of bad game design by the developers. The "free" style of progression means that in this one specific spot you can get stuck without a way to get out (namely the monarch wings(double jump) and shade dash(upgraded dash)) Your best bet is to "pogo" out of the Ancient Basin by going to the large spike pit you came in through (hopefully) and striking downwards at that cross junction of spikes where you can't progress further. You strike downwards on the spikes to your upper right and can jump out that way. Hopefully you have the Mantis Claw (wall jump) and Mothwing Cloak (dash).
I fell kinda dumb anyway, because I was just complaining to my BF because I got stuck there and I was trying but wasn't able to get out, just getting hit by spikes and all that, so he took the controller and with two jumps he was out. He doesn't even play this game. ¬¬
