Can't beat white palace and I don't want to.
Is there anyway we can convince the developers to not hide the other half of the kingsoul behind and incredibly hard challenge. I don't think it's fair to keep it away from more casual players like it's just not fun; what an unfun chore.

I found White Palace to be a nice break from all of the fighting and intensity. White Palace isn't an unfun chore, its a break from the rest of the game in a dream. If you think you deserve the Kingsoul, then you should be willing to put in the time to do some platforming for it.
Hiveblood + Deep Focus + Grubsong (+ Whatever)

Zote it can be quite tedious since up until this point the platforming didn't demand extreme timing like white palace. That being said just use hiveblood or cheat your way through.

I think the White Palace requires a different skillset than fighting bosses, and as such players who are used to the consistent feel of HK might not be prepared for sudden Super Meat Knight. Not saying this applies to everybody because some people are either naturally good at platformers or are otherwise good at adapting to new situations (or are just reallly patient, lol). But it requires a different muscle than what has been required for the journey thus far.

I can't blame people who don't like that the best ending is gated behind the platforming hell that is the White palace, but at least I can say that beyond the initial entrance, there are no monsters for this section. Just focus on the platforming, the timing of the jumps, and take it slow so you can keep healing with the aforementioned charms. If it becomes too hard, watching a few videos wouldn't hurt.

Now if you simply refuse to attempt it on account of disagreeing with the philosophy of the game design, then, I still maintain my position in that I can't blame you for it. I think it's a valid complaint. But I also can't help you much either. You could opt to watch let's plays as a lite alternative, but that will ultimately be your choice.

Well, nobody is forcing you to beat white palace, you can finish the game without getting the Kingsoul. Since you don't want to beat it anyway, just don't do it and your problem is solved?
Complaining about the difficulty of an optional challenge doesn't seem very logical to me.

The entire point of the area is to be extremely challenging. I personally really enjoyed it and it's one of my favorite parts of the game.

And what about the non-casual players? They don't deserve a game that's challenging and rewards them for their effort and skill?

I literally just beat it like 5 minutes ago and I still don't retract my opinion.
It was such a miserable experience!

All of the major plot points are locked behind the Kingsoul.
Telling people to just settle with the bad ending is like telling them to avoid the inverted castle in Symphony of the Night. Nothing about the White Palace is optional (except for the Path of Pain).

I completely agree with all the complaints.
There is a massive difficulty spike for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
You'd expect this kind of stuff inside the Abyss, but not in the King's very own home, and with all those silly nobles around. It is so dissonant and out-of-place, it feels like a kaizo hack done by some random person on the internet, not a talented game designer over at Team Cherry.

I am all for difficult platforming segments, but not like this. There is no justification whatsoever.
It just comes out of nowhere and ruins people's days for no reason, sticking out like a sore thumb in an otherwise expertly-crafted game.

I still think the game can keep the white palace, just don't hide something like the kingsoul behind it.
I just beat it btw and no I still don't retract my complaint. The whole experience was misreable, I hope never to go through that again.

Well, I have managed to eventually beat it and it wasn't THAT bad until section with timed spears. I hated that part. But after watching video with some non-glisthc skips it got even easier. So just equip Hiveblood, longnail (it worked better than Mark of Pride for me) and practise skips and learn how to pass through sections that cannot be skipped. I do not hate The White palace but I do not like it either. Also I think some skips were even intentional to test player's patience but it is not confirmed I think. (probably not one like that with nail jump from lamp to skip much of timed spikes section, you who know it will know what I am talking about) .

If there's no meaningful reward for completing it, then what's the point? (looking at you Path of Pain)

What I'm saying is, why do you feel that the developers should model the game around your play style instead of the play style of other players? Making the Kingsoul easier to complete will make the game less enjoyable for some players. So why do you feel that you deserve a more enjoyable experience at the expense of other player's enjoyment?

How about you G I T G U D. But really, it's not that hard, if your having trouble with a specific part, then just watch a video on it. :shadeknight:

I do agree that White Palace is a bit too strict on some of the timings, but I don't see the devs ever changing it. It's not THAT difficult. It may take a few extra hours of practice, but anyone should be able to get through it eventually.

I'm not really good at platforming and don't really like paltforming-only sections like the White Palace, but with Hiveblood it was really easy.
So I'd advise you to either grab it or equip it, and then profit. I'd probably have gone mad in the White Palace if it hadn't been for this charm

I went into the White Palace blind, and I was glad I did. It was incredibly hard and challenging. It was extremely rewarding to finish. Colosseum of Fools was harder for me, and more frustrating... but getting that sweet 100% was worth it.

Why would you be rewarded for putting in no effort? The point of getting 100% is to show you tried to complete the game. Why should the player get an award for not trying. Being a more casual player is fine, but dont expect things to be handed to you.
