Anybody actually use the downward dash?

It has only f***ed me (controller stick), and I have never once used it on purpose. I see why it's there (some combat situations), but if it had a tick on options to remove it, I would.

I am never using it, but because I am using a controller (as recommended), and if the stick is tilted slightly too much downwards, the game thinks I want to go down and not left or right. (for example when slashing your nail downwards and then quickly trying to dash left or right, I sometimes don't tilt the stick enough, even though I feel like I did at the time (I am not new to a controller)... And therefor end up inside the creature who I want to murder in cold blood.

Yeah, Downward dash seems wasteful. The whole charm in general is less useful than others.

have you tried to use the d-pad? i find it much nicer on games that only really use 8 directions.
I assume your using a xbox/playstation controller.

Dashmaster has two general good uses, in my opinion: 1) Traversing the map quicker (very good for the speedrun achievements) and 2) More dodging/attacking capability in boss battles.

There is one area in the whole game I found it useful and that's the white palace

Downward dash has use combined with a late-game dash charm, although I still never found it useful.

Totally disagree. Actually, this is my favourite charm. I was use it right from the point when i found it, and to the end of the game. Different people - different play styles.

I accidentally had dashmaster on in the white palace, and downward dash got me killed many many times when I was not expecting it to trigger.

I think using it in conjunction with the shade cloak makes for a very effective dash tool. :3
