What charm spec do you love?
Everyone has their own favorite charm builds and the charms allow for so much customization once you collect them all. Some things like soul boost aren't needed if you aren't getting hit so you can focus more on melee attack strength. Perhaps a boss has little time for healing and you want a good strong offense instead. Or maybe you're going after those Dream Bosses and want to custom tailor a build targeting their vulnerabilities that makes each trivial. You can stack up extended swords with quick strike for a melee assassin, go full caster with spirit boosts and enhanced spells, you can go full on tank with invuln extension and tons of blue orbs, you can go for a sustain paladin with quick heals and high soul recovery, or even some sort of minion master that summons exploding gas clouds or flying mouths.

What kind of "class" did you create? What skills drew your attention?

Personally I'm an all-arounder that likes to enhance overall characters rather than focus heavily to the inclusion of others. So I went with Soul Catcher, Longnail, Gathering Swarm, and Compass for most of the game. Now that I have all the stuff unlocked, I'm sticking to a similar build and just upgrading Longnail -> Mark of Pride and adding Quick Slash. It makes a quick attacking character who makes just enough soul to stay alive with how often I get hit.

But yeah, I make my own "charm class" whenever I choose certain set.

Facetank dare-devil: Grubsong, Thorn of Agony, Defender's Crest, Quick Slash

Spell Master: Spell Twister, Soul Catcher, Shaman's Stone, Dream Catcher

Nail Master: Longnail/Mark of Pride, Quick Slash, Nailmaster's Glory (add Dashmaster for more awesomeness)

Just wanna survive the boss: Mark of Pride/Longnail, Soul Catcher, Grubsong, Stalwart Shell, Quick Focus/Shape of Unn

♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforming: Hiveblood, Grubsong

I like to use longnail and mark of pride, they seem to stack and make your nail attacks extremely long. You can hit enemies through walls and downstrike most enemies without them hitting you. Jonis Blessing, Stalwart Shell and Thorns are nice for being lazy in boss fights.

Where is mark of pride? I've heard it mentioned a lot as a better longnail, but I missed it in my run (just beat the game).

Defender's Crest + Spore Shroom + Charm of Unn (or whatever it's called) + Quick Focus. While focusing, you can shoot across the ground at mach speed, leaving clouds of stinky destruction in your wake.

Joni's Blessing + Lifeblood Core + Sturdy Shell

AKA the "I don't feel like dodging" setup.

It's in the treasure room in the mantis village, accessible after you beat mantis lords.

Ill be honest i have a similar build to Colonele Moustache, thou I added the glowing womb for support and soul catcher to gain more soul (It makes me Overcharmed, but the DPS is great)

It depended on my situation at the time. My end game builds were built around defeating the final boss, and exploring for full map completion.

My Boss build was Mark of Pride, Quick Focus, and the shaman charm that increases magic damage. This let me wail into the boss with everything I had while staying away from the danger.

The exploration build was Sharp Shadow, Wayward Compass, Longnail, and some other charms based on what I was looking for.

I prefer shaman with long nail, along with grubsong, I prefer more of a battlemage approach, hoping to squeeze dream charm in their soon.

My exploration build out was quick slash, hiveblood, Soul Catcher and shape of unn. Works pretty well for getting around and surviving tough battles. And the two bosses I stumbled into weren't a lot of trouble. I see it as a good all around build.

This one, is great for just about everything, although I think you have 11 charm slots all told with what you listed. I don't have grubsong on my build.

Oh well, it's been a little while since I played it. Grubsong is definitely the least necessary in that list anyway

Sharp Shadow, Dash Master, Nail Master, Quick Focus, Stalwart Shell.

Dash through everything, Nail Art everything, heal quickly while dashing through everything.

This made Colosseum a cinch.
