When I came back to Soul Sanctum I was decently powered up from exploring Deepnest and upgrading my blade. Then I just equipped the derp invuln/health spec and spam attacked the Soul Master any time he wasn't throwing fireballs. The spells he hurls are easy to dodge, just dash out of the way and they hit the ground. So do that repeatedly and WAIT for an opportunity to attack. He gives you plenty. The fight's about patience rather than rushing it and you will rarely ever take any damage once you have the rhythym down.
You are salty....sorry. I found none of this to be difficult, this game had plenty of hours of game play...and only alittle of it was back-tracking and nobody said "100s of hours" who said that ? or are you just-child-like ranting ? My guess is the latter, the game has about 60-75 hours for completionist...and 90% of that is exploration, bosses, secrets...White Palace, Soul Master, Soul Tyrant, Grimm, Nightmare King, Colosseum of Fools (even 3rd trial/ God Tamer finale) none of it is hard, game is all about recognizing patterns, and adapting nothing more. I stand by my point, I don't consider any area in the game "cancer" flying guys, teleporting, none of it sucks, not for me - but to each their own. Games pacing/challenge was about average, just fine for me. I 106% with relatively little effort, about 75 hours. Which is a solid game-time. Unbreakable Strength+Quick Slash+Thorns+Mark of Pride (11 slots) full slots, 9 masks, Pure Nail, all cloak upgrades, all charms in game.
Soul Tyrant (dream) is very easy...2nd phase is no different, just him dive-bombing. dash>avoid>dash.>avoid, fatty is too slow, teleporting doesn't bother me, cause once you realize ITS A PATTERN , you know exactly where he is going. Boom Left, boom right, boom center, (tosses an electrical ball at you) boom right, boom right, boom left..../shrug all based on 2 things platforming+patterns.(as any good metroidvania should) the games pacing is fine, the back-tracking is fine, the games large enviroment is fine, none of it bothered me, and it was like a shoe that fits very well...as the game is, 9 stag stations, and 21 benches is fine, I keep looking around like "why are people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about such easy stuff" I dont know...I guess playing platformers for nearly 30 years....all this is very basic.
You say salty and cancer, I say enjoyable and average-difficulty. ...to each their own. Dark Souls is ok....even easier if you ask me...not 1 part of Demons Souls (even Flame-lurker NG+++) is that bad...Dark Souls, Dark Souls II (including all DLC) and DS3 (Fires Fade Edition) and BB...."decent" games, but nothing special or all that challenging. I spent FAR more time grinding/back-tracking in Dark Souls then I ever did in Hollow Knight, cause Hollow Knight is a massive-platformer-metroidvania vs Souls is a dungeon crawler ARPG...and any game with RPG like elements (leveling systems, etc) you will naturally spend alot more time in menus, applying points, grinding enemies to have more souls to spend (etc, ) I found my experience with HK to be vastly more enjoyable then Souls...but neither were all that difficult. I found the back-tracking to be quite easy in this game, To get from 1 area to the next my god its easy as hell, takes only a FEW minutes, dash dash dash, next area, dash dash dash, next area, dash dash, BENCH, dash, Stag Station, Dash, ...I just crossed 3 areas in that time. The game has a massive enviroment (when you look at the entire Hallownest map) but even then you can cross multiple areas QUITE fast.
Not 1 area I've encountered in 70+ hours gave me any "REAL" frustration....quite enjoyable actually. Even Queens Gardens, the most intense areas of platforming in/around spikes, or the end of White Palace...its exactly what I thrive on...I mean I golden God 110% Super Meat Boy...so this is right along my lines (wall climbing, double jumps, razor-sharp dashes) Team Cherry GIVES you the tools to destroy this game and then some...learn to use all of them (sometimes in combination).
It's like my buddy was saying "nowadays gamers are spoon-fed, they want hand-holding, most casual-20-something gamers cant handle the more difficult games...not all of course, but a vast majority of them find anything that doesn't cater to the lowest common denominator to be "too difficult, cancer 4/10" lol ....Challenge (along with exploration, soundtrack, fun factor, replay value) are among some of the most/more important aspects of a game...a game doesn't have to be difficult..or overly-masochistic...but I like my masochistic, difficult-just-for-the-sake-of-being-difficult type games....but thats me. The more frustrated I get, the more focused I get...I dont scream, yell, flip out...I just replay, replay, adapt, and win. It's nothing special.
Like when you say (QUOTE)
I just beat the Soul Master. Or I thought I did until I realized he has a second phase. Where I died and I have to go thorugh this cancer of an area again. Lovely, just lovely. By the way I know about the checkpoint next to the map guy, I have it unlocked but it's still like 5 teleporting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s too far from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bossfight.
^ Really ? lo....Really ? "5 teleporting ______s too far from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bossfight" calm down HOSS. 5 ? LOL....wtf....thats like a HOP and a skip...MAD easy..(I know your post is from awhile back) but you must of skipped alot, or came in rather weak..or didn't have the appropriate upgrades...even my first time entering this....I found it to be relatively small and a hop n skip. And thats not bragging or acting arrogantly, I mean it...it really isnt that bad at all...lol
1001 Spikes...LOL don't even go anywhere near that...La Mulana, 1001 Spikes, Super Ghouls n Ghosts, Fox n Forests - now those are games that will test your limits. Even then I destroyed those games as well. Just a matter of time, you can persevere over anything...just relax. Salty is very unbecoming of a person. Makes you less attractive, like the fat kid on youtube screaming at his Xbox b/c he died for the 11th time, and mother walks into bedroom "ROGER WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, ALL THAT SCREAMING, ACT LIKE A CIVILIZED HUMAN" lol its juts a game. Not hating or bashing you but...I don't see the big deal (even though your post was from a year ago, and alot has changed in-game) and the game ISN'T even finished (still have Gods & Glory final 3rd free DLC pack in late 2018, and of course 2019 a Hornet Campaign/paid expansion) Play it, beat it, enjoy it, move on.
You know who ironically I found annoying MARMU lol
Shes definitely disarmingly difficult. Her fight is a MASTERFUL example of faking the ♥♥♥♥ out of the player. Since her only attack is bouncing at you, by twitching slightly before going, or NOT doing that, she ♥♥♥♥♥ you up every time, and theres NO time to heal in her fight, so its super easy to just die. Still beat her after 2 tries but ...
Love that fight.
White Palace...Path of Pain....all can be done in time. Path of Pain took me a few tries. But (as with everything) just a matter of time.
1000000% on Binding of Isaac (all 3 saved slots) including all Keeper achievements...now that is hard lol....even McMillen has a message for anyone who gets true platinum god.
I'm not gonna read any of that btw so you just wasted a whole lot of your time.
