Hollow Knight 1.0.3.2 live on Public Beta. German and Simplified Chinese languages available!
Hey Everyone,

Hollow Knight's latest patch is now available on the beta branches!

To access a beta branch, right-click on 'Hollow Knight' in your Steam library, click properties, select the 'Betas' tab, then select one of the following:

Windows PC: public-beta-
OSX: beta-osx-
Linux: beta-linux-

This is a smaller update that fixes a few bugs, but more importantly adds beta support for two new languages: German and Simplified Chinese! For now, these languages are hidden in the game's main menu while we finalise their implementation. But! If you want to help us test these languages (which would be incredibly appreciated!) you can access them with a Launch Option.

To make German and Simplified Chinese available in the options menu:
- In your Steam library, right-click on Hollow Knight and select 'Properties'
- Under the 'General' tab, click on 'Set Launch Options'
- In the window that pops up, type '-forcelang' in the text box and click 'ok'.

KNOWN ISSUES FOR CHINESE AND GERMAN
(No need to report these)
- Language name will appear incorrectly in menu (eg. 'LANG_199')
- Simplified Chinese: Some characters missing (appear as squares)
- Simplified Chinese: Some bolded text hard to read
- Simplified Chinese: Area titles sometimes overlap
- Simplified Chinese: Sub-titles sometimes clip off screen

Apart from the issues above, let us know if you see anything wrong with the translations, whether its technical problems or actual translation errors/oddities.

- Added beta support for Simplified Chinese/German
- Fixed issue where Dung Defender didn’t react to Dream Nail during battle
- Fixed issue where using Dreamnail on sleeping Dung Defender caused a mysterious, unexplained crash
- Fixed issue where Quick Map shortcut could cause errors while entering/leaving scenes
- Fixes to enemy dreams
- Various particle effect fixes
- Various SFX/Music fixes

Hi folks,

Firstly, Do you have plans to add Spanish language? I just read that exist an external (unnofficial) translation for this game. In my case I don't really want to replace original files for external ones, but maybe you should contact him to add his job officially (updated to 1.0.2.8 as far as I know).

I'm not going to share these link types here. So, if you want it send me a PM (only for devs. I'm not going to spread unnoficial content without consent, I'll check if you are a dev here or not, sorry) I will answer you with the rest of the info.

Thanks to the devs for supporting the game! I have come across the issues that occur when going through a transition to a new room with the map open before, and I'm glad to see it fixed.

To report an odd bug I found, last night when playing, I got the pale ore from The Seer and paused afterwards to view it in my inventory, and the game softlocked on a blank pause screen with no items or text or UI elements aside from the border displayed. I had to Alt+F4 my game to get out, and when I returned I walked out of the room before pausing and it did not happen again; not sure about the cause for this.

I've also noticed that when pausing or opening the map when bouncing on the bouncy mushrooms in the Fungal Wastes, the player will stop bouncing but the bounce animation on the mushroom will continuously play. Additionally, I noticed that the horizontal gates in Crystal Peak do not have a sound when opening up.
