I hate you Devs...I hate you so much.
haha, I've attempted that one about 15 times so far. Please tell me it doesn't go much further than the (first?) collapsing platform, I've at least come close to landing on that a few times now.
From what I keep hearing, White Palace may be a lost cause for me.
fighting 2x Elder Baldur was made easier by manipulating one into staying closed by standing close to it and fighting the other from afar.
Scratch that, two things. Having to constantly fight hollow knight every time the radiance kills me.I mean ♥♥♥♥, the first time around hollow knight was a great fight but it wears me down after the 15th time and just becomes tedious
Great. (not) looking forward to it.
*Youtubes White Palace*
Ok I'm done with Hollow Knight. I don't have the patience for this.
Quoted from another thread about WP:
"It's required to access the true final boss but you can give up now and just get the normal ending.
The simplest way to deal with it is by equipping Hiveblood charm. This will give you regeneration. You can then repeat the spike traps infinitely until you succeed."
I can understand not having the patience to do it, but you're quitting the game over a mostly optional area.
Mostly optional that actually contains the ability to see the true ending?
I like difficult games.
Hollow Knight borderlines on "just too much" for me at times. I'm in my 30's and I don't value that kind of frustration anymore.
Hiveblood Charm + the first grub charm (Gain soul when you take damage) + Fragile Heart (It won't break in the palae) Means you have a ♥♥♥♥ load of health and practically infinite soul.
That's how I got through the white palace. by the time I'd lost about four health I already had the soul to recharge three health. I was basically immortal when it came to the white palace. Though that only goes so far. Still a lot of frustration in the palace.
I'm in my 40's and feel exactly the same way.
Funnily enough, I quite enjoyed White Palace. Using the Hiveblood charm, it's pretty much impossible to die if you wait a few seconds to heal before each attempt. And because of that, it felt somewhat less stressful than a lot of the boss fights in the game. I followed a YouTube guide as I did it to make sure I was approaching each obstacle the best way.
Sure, there were a few difficult bits that took a lot of attempts, but you actually feel yourself getting better with practice. If you do happen to die, it's amazing how quickly you can get back to that point once you know how.
With that said, two harder challenges remain, and they are definitely worth quitting over: 1) The final boss fight for the true ending (not because it's especially difficult, but because every time you attempt it, you have to beat the other final boss first), and 2) The 3rd Colosseum trial if you want that 100% completion. For both of these, you need the reaction times of a hyperactive teenager!
*sips coffee*
I will attempt these things, but my sanity is already at it's breaking point.
I have to take a break from Hollow Knight.
Let me just say I think it's a great game and one of the best put together Metroidvania style games ever, honestly. The challenge is sometimes "just right" but then later in the game it borders on absurdity. I obviously haven't attempted the toughest parts yet but I will try.
