That's it, I guess.
I read over and over that Crystallised Mound "absolutely required" Hive Blood and other late end-game stuff.
I did it in under 10 mins, then actually spent another 15 mins checking I'd not missed areas / secret doors / stuff because it was so small / easy.
Hollow Knight: playbase like to pretend they're DS, but they're actually carebears / unicorns.
Try it with KB + 19200x1080 ... it's dodgy as - slight 0.4ms delays, assets loading and small freezes.
And it's not like Dark Soul is a difficult game it's only seems difficult for new players since it's dont have proper tutorial and obscure and hide all it's mechanics. As soon as you look on wiki how Dark Souls games actually work it's all walk in the park.
For the same reason dark souls is considered hard, neither is hard, but at least this is completely fair.
A game doesnt need to be hard to be good; the great example on this game is the hollow kmight; hes not hard, but its not intended to be hard, that boss fight is intended to be emotional, a knight that sacrificed for the kingdom and now is stabbing himself to help you kill the infection, at that moment the infection doesnt care anympre about the body of the hollow knight and starts hitting it against the floor.
Its a fight between you and the hollow knight against the infection, not a battle between you and the hollow knight.
Its more a symbolic fight than a hard fight, and its for the better
Like in Dark Souls - If you dont know what to do you will get your face stomped. But if you do know where to go, what to use and figure out the controlls and stuff, Dark Souls is a easy as any other game.
I'm not being elitist, quite the opposite: I was questioning the many many reviews / threads suggesting that Hollow Knight was insanely difficult. (Admittedly, I did many of the jump puzzles early which makes them a lot more frustrating).
For the record, it's game of 2017 for me so far; for the price point & amount of content, and the story, it's simply a 100% recommend. (For the record, just left the Abyss and spoke to Hornet, having upgraded my nail and all spells to max, so I'm almost finished)
However, there's 100% issues: the second arena challenge was only challenging because the load in for flies (especially the small ones) stutters the engine. Needs some optimization work.
It is pretty universally regarded as a difficult game. Exactly how difficult will vary from player to player, but in the grand scheme of things it is certainly a lot more challenging than the average game out there.
