Attention all players: BEWARE OF THE SERVER CORRUPTION ISSUE!

Ive lost many pawns on the xbox360 version of this game due to capcom's crappy server's going down and corrupting my characters. I really love this game alot, but that is my main issue with it..the server end. You all better hope they fix this issue, or we are going to see alot of people complaining about corrupted pawns again. BTW, i hope none of you try my pawns i made for the xbox360 version because they were all corrupted, and may corrupt your characters.

THAT's right everyone! If you use a corrupted pawn, it can and WILL corrupt your pawn and MC! EVEN WORSE is that you cannot tell if the other person's pawn got corrupted your partying with. That is the one biggest risk with this game. If any of you played the other versions of this game, you all know what im talking about:

It has happened in the past, and im sure it will happen on this version. Even though im really a big fan of this lovely game, this is the other shoe dropping thing for me. It not only corrupts your main pawn, and acts like a virus, spreading it to your friends games (if they load it up with your pawn), but also, corrupts your MC save game!

Just make sure you have backup copy of your game's main save..that is all i can say.

The other solution is not even renting out other's pawns, unless from a trusted friend.

BTW, even though the links are old, the new patches never fixed the problem..i played this game last year on my xbox360 and still got corrupted. Here is the rundown of the issue to begin with:

At one time i even called Capcom (there is a number in the back of the instruction manual) and ask them if they could recover my save and MC and main pawn, but they said it was impossible to retrive..so that tells you how hard they fixed the issue since 2014.

never had this happen on ps3 and i played the crap out of it (600+h) i was also backing up my saves after hearing about that but even then it was ony known to happen to xbox360, i also never used more then my own pawn suspicions of corrupted hacked pawns was floating around too so idk,,

I never had this issue happen to me, on PS3. But hopefully save management will be easier now.

Not sure if it ever happened on ps3, but i have played it on Xbox360, as i said above. I really hope players don't have to lose all their saves like i did..that is why im still mad at this game..i really like this game..even the crossdressing quest was funny, but the annoying server glitch made me lose about 7 characters. After that, i put the game aside. Ill watch this version and see if it has the same issue. If it does i suggest tellling capcom as soon as possible..otherwise they will permanently say there looking into the issue and never fix it..

Yeah, that sounds terrible...Strange thing is, I never had this happen to me on 360, but then, I found my preferred party composition early and only changed pawns when the ones I was using became seriously lower level than my character and main pawn. Still, out of all the time I put into this game, I would have expected anything that was pretty much inevitable to hit me sooner or later, and I did many many many NG+ runs with new pawns, so I'd say while this would destroy a file it hits, it isn't necessarily going to hit any given player if you're not constantly swapping pawns, and that's if it's even there in the PC version.

Never had it happen to me on the 360. You maybe extremely unlucky or have exited when it was saving.

I lost my pawn on the xbox version, I was in a cave and could see my pawn on the map at the other end of the cave system, I exited the cave with my other pawns but that one did not come out, and when I went back in she was gone, Never appeared in the pawn area either, lost in transit, It's a great game though, very tough sometimes.

youll be able to back up your pawn with any method you prefer.

also its not the "Servers" that caused the corruption, it was your xbox.. this game isn't "online only", your pawns and character are stored locally with optinal online upload for leaderboards and pawn sharing.

i have over 900 hours across 12 characters on dragons dogma PS3 and xbox 360.. this has never happened once. so i think the OP attempted to edit things beyond his knowledge and this led to his save corruption. because if it was something to happen it would of happened to me

Nope. I never modded or edited my save files. I was legit all the way. The only thing i did was use random pawn(s) from the server. As for my corruption, as i said, i called CAPCOM about it. They even know it happens, but still have yet to fix it, at least on my character(s).

dude, the ps3 and 360 use mechanical drives which are prone to corruption and eventually failure. thats probably all it was

there is a slight chance you may have an SSD for the newer ps3s ?? or hacked in one on the xbox but most people are fiddling with mechanical drives for sure

The save file is in steam>userdata>"yourID">367500>remote
however..I don't know if pawns are linked to this as well..this will save your character though.

Well a local save will help, but only if you save before renting the "corrupted" pawn. If anyone rents my pawn online..be aware it was corrupted due to me renting someone's random pawn who was either hacked or modded. The pawns name was Alisha and George. Do not rent them. Alisha was one of highest level pawn i had. She was my best pawn on xbox360..too bad she got corrupted by some one else's pawn..
