They'll usually glow blue for like an instant before falling down the hill, and you can sometimes follow them based on that. Aquisitor pawns can help, but don't count on them.

Well, easier to google a map than to describe it but it's at the very end of the game. He only sells them in Stage 6 which is also at the end of the quest line so if you're not there yet, don't bother making the trek :)
