Tier 7 mage augment that extends buffs is a nice bonus to mystic knight (his buffs, buff the whole party at once but take longer to cast)
Also faster cast rate from sorc is a good one to grab as well however I believe its tier 10 sorc for that one.
As for min/max stats. Honestly its not really needed. But your best bet is a mixture of assassin and sorc levels as mystic knight does well to have balanced stats. Because he has a shield defense and magical defence can be lower that what you need.
Augmentation, go to the vocation page and read up on it. Find what you want and level up the rank of the vocation to get augments. Change vocation and repeat.

Yes it does.
As for augments and such? Vehemence from Fighter for 10% increased Strength, Clout from Warrior for 20%. Attunement and Acuity from Mage and Sorcerer for the same with Magick. The ones from Warrior and Sorcerer require getting to rank 9 with the vocation to unlock for purchase. That's four augments though so you CAN eventually have all four, but then you'd only have like two augment slots left which doesn't leave you a lot of options. If you want more space for other augments, just go with Clout from Warrior and the one from Sorcerer. Leveling as those while you get vocation ranks will be beneficial for MK too since you'll get good strength per level from Warrior and the best magic per level from Sorcerer.
