Fast travel?
I've watched Angry Joe's review of this game and he says there's no fast travel and it's annoying running for 15 minutes from area to area... It would be a buzz kill for me as well, is there some kind of fast travel in this port or a mod that will include fast travel in the game?

Well, Angry Joe doesn't know what he's talking about.
Fast travel works via items called Ferrystones and Portcrystals. They're just unlocked later in the game.
So yeah, in the beginning you'll have to run most places, so if that's not for you, I'd suggest not getting the game.

A lot of Angry Joe's review is out of date because it was based on the console version. A lot has changed since then.

But there was always ferrystones and portcrystals. They were just very expensive in the original game and tweaked to be cheaper in Dark Arisen.

Just a quick note, as soon as you get to gran soren, you get an eternal ferrystone, you just have to take it from your storage at the inn. You'll still need the portcrystals which you get later on, but you can fast travel to gran soren and cassardis straight away.

I know, that's why I'm asking for this port lol

exactly, I have posted portcrystals in stragetic areas in the map on the console before. I just have to boot up my console version to see where I had them because it was a perfect placement for all the quests requirements

That review is from the original release on console pre-dark arizen. There is fast travel now and save anytime you want or need.

Ok that's pretty much all I wanted to know... So you can only fast travel to certain areas? Like important cities/castles,etc

In the beginning only Cassardis and Gran Soren. You'll acquire portcrystals at various points in the game, which are then used on the ground. Using them will drop them on the ground, making you able to teleport to it.

Angry Joe didn't play the game enough before making a review, because even the base DD had fast travel it's just not a conventional fast travel. You make your own fast travel network in this game and it takes time to get the crystals for a decent one. Fast travel to Cassardis and Gran Soren exists when you reach those spots provided you have a Ferrystone or the Eternal Ferrystone to take you there.

There is a limited number of port locations, however you the player get to decide where those locations will be.

in short, the first dragon dogma sucks compared to other games(main trouble features was lack of transportation and reciving quests which is higher than your lvl).

but when they intrduced the Dark arisen, they fixed the issue by adding the limit, and since the dark arisen is a lot harder, regular story mode was a bit easier compare to the new mode.

but yea, you have to explore the areas, and place the portals at strategic location so you don't have to travel a lot with escort quests ;)
and don't forget, discover the Safe areas as soon as possible, they are worth it
