i'm not sure what benefits or negative consequences there are for the quest, i always gave one to him tho.

if you would like an extra one afterwards, i wouldn't mind giving your pawn one

There are wake stones and wake stone pieces. Some Merchant type Vendors sell the pieces so you can combine 3 of them to make a full wakestone. They are not that difficult to come by. Yes, pawns can die but your main pawn will reappear the next time you touch/enter the Rift. The only time I've ever had to use a wakestone to revive someone is the smiths son you are talking about so go ahead and bring him back to life.

Not gonna state when they just start dropping like candy cuz spoiler for op but eventually you will be able to store hundreds of em lol. Tho I have a feeling the reason why Capcom made wakestones so easy at that point of the game is because of how badly designed the dungeon they put them in was. Truly if we didnt have bitter black isle I never would of attempted to grind I would of quit a long time ago cuz the final dungeon of this game before BBI is prob the worst I have ever seen.

I wouldnt hire my pawn i just started over again lol discovered that pure strength builds straight up dont work unless you have the patience of a saint. Many enemies in this game are just better to fight with enchanted weapons be it by pawn buff or perma enchanted weapons.
