I didn't get the Gold Idol
Unfortunately, I didn't know you HAD to let her win the race, so i didn't get the ♥♥♥♥, what can I do now? Do I start over? My character is lvl 45

You can change difficulty of the game to hard mode, witch resets story progress to the beginning. But its not resetting your items and level. Later you can change it back from hard to normal (or easy) without reseting
But to be honest its not "that" big of a loss, the discount is nice for like 5 minutes (until you solve your money problems) , and the weapons unlocked are not critical
Does it worth the hassle of restarting and 30 minutes of your time?(I'm looking at this hydra head escort quest)
Then again it could unlock something that you REALLY want, so go check that on the wiki page for "caston's armory" and see what gold idol unlocks

Why would you start over to just get the Idol? The idol you need to gain easier access to items you can acquire in other ways. And you can give it to only one of the shopkeepers anyway. Not worth it IYAM.

BTW Do you have a checkpoint from before the quest?

Actually, the game allows for 3 gold idols or forgeries thereof. 2 to give to shopkeepers at some point and one to use yourself. The gold idol reduces cost of items from merchants (not Forny or the Black Cat) and it raises their affinity to they offer access to better goods. Not having a gold idol is not a game breaker. U can raise a vendors affinity by giving them what they like. For some it could be a big or giant fish, for others hasbud juice, some like a certain kind of flower etc... There is nothing a vendor will offer after getting a gold idol that they will not have in stock for sale later on in the game so it's not as though you will miss out on something special by not giving them an idol. As for cash...kill the oxen outside the gate, age the beefsteaks they drop and sell them for 2K+ each.
Bitterblack > idol.

Yes. But at this point its not needed, as much more powerfull weapons are available and money is is not a problem

The idol really isn't worth the effort. You can already get weapons on part with the ones that the two merchants in Gran Soren will give you from other locations, and post-game there are better weapons with the everfall merchants.

And that's not even bringing up Bitterblack isle gear.

You also can load your checkpoint-save (the last save. you completed a main quest or slept at the inn. If you visit the Pawn-rift, it's also a hard-save afaik.) and play from there. I'm not sure, if the game makes a normal safe after the quest is completed, however, although this is NOT a main-quest.

If you want the Kunai-daggers as soon as possible, give the idol to Madeleine. They're very hard to get otherwise. (This is the only black-magic-infused dagger ingame.)

You can also get idols via gift afaik. Perhaps someone has a real one left and can gift it to you. You need to make your main-pawn public, so it can be rented.
But DON'T give a forged one to the traders. Always use a real one. Forged ones won't stock up anything!
