My base got flooded
I was making an underground forestry set up when I mined up a block by accident and the entire room filled with water before I could stop it from spreading. I plugged up the hole and thought that might remove all the water (like in Minecraft). Unfortunately, my room was still filler with water so I just assumed I was going to have to fill in the room with blocks and mine out the blocks again, layer by layer.
I had finished placing down and mining out most of the blocks for the first layer when all of a sudden, more water rushed into my room. I must have missed a block :(. The water spreads so fast and spreads in a diagonal fashion such that it is impossible to stop the spread unless you deal with it in the first 0.5 seconds that it starts. So I just have to sit there and watch as the water spreads back out and undoes the progress I made of removing the water.
It is a pretty large room so filling in each layer and deleting the blocks will take me about 2 or 3 hours in total (estimating from having nearly finished one layer). All this work because I accidentally broke one wrong block. :(
Is there any other way of removing a large body of water?

No, not really.
But you can use the "anti-flood" mod that stops water from spreading on its own.
Because currently, if you dig into water underground, well, your base is basically gone now...

Please use the suggested mod and if you have the builder unlocked, use that to fill in the water covered space
I accidentally flooded the bottom 8 levels of my mine once. The answer is to use the builder to fill the entire area with temperate logs and use the special digger to dig out all temperate logs. This will push out all the water and excavate the area quickly.

Thank you for your suggestion. I like this idea the most out of all the advice given as it seems I don't need any mods to do it? Either way, I am glad that I know a couple of ways to fix my issue. Thank you everybody :)
