The armor is from an event. You need a lvl11+ cultist for it to trigger. You need a total of 5 cultists cultists and 2 of those have to be original. The others can be converted. A lvl11+ brother must be sacrificed. This will be random so you can't choose who you will lose. I also believe it will only happen at night.

No one has definitive information because no one knows exactly what are the requirements and the developers won't tell. What's on the Wiki is a guess based on what I and others reported. See this.

As I said, the safe thing to do would be to build a party with as much Cultists as possible and keep them until both pieces of armor have been acquired.

I've played for about 500 hours and haven't seen it yet. I've followed the thread Abel posted and the reddit thread for most of that time. In comparison, I've only seen the masterwork bow event twice, with one of those times being a success.

Yes, it's a very rare event. Then it depends on how you spent those 500 hours. If it was on the same campaign, then you would be very unlucky. But if you're not going for at least a 2 years campaign, it's not worth it in my opinion to try to obtain the armor. Some players got it by the first year but that's not common.

Use the search option. I remember a thread a while back where some players where writing about it. It is the one thing I have never done myself.

Most of that was in 967, 715, and 231-day runs. For the longer two, I spent most of those following the guides. To be honest, I'm usually ready to stop by the time I get the emperor set, so I probably wouldn't keep playing after grinding out the davkul set.

You can hex-edit your savefile and never need events&cultists&time. Because this I have made my bb modding guide.

I see. Well, I'm only still playing my very long campaign to collect named items. I've used it to gather data for the Wiki too. And it's a good break from EELI campaigns.

I don't recall any more. Do they at least give the sacrificed brother an obituary? Or he does not even get that since he did not die in combat? ;)

I just got the helm event (I think) on day 7 with no cultists in my party.
The one when you meet a bunch of cultists in the forest. I didn't decide to attack, but they attacked me in ambush mode with the party scattered.

Absolutely no way to win the fight with a day 7 company.

On the other hand, I have an 800+ days campaign with multiple cultists in the party and still no helmet. But I have the armor in that one.

What exactly is the helm event - as in what do you need to do?

I got the helm with 1 cultist and 2 turned cultists.
Pre-dlc.

Lots of options.
They were sacrificing someone, I stood by and watched, told my cultist to ask them to give him the item or whatever, they did suprisingly enough, no problem.
Then I was an idiot and tried to help/avenge the sacrifice, regret it so bad. Sure they looked easy without any armor but they took down half my squad with their machete, rotation, dodge builds.

So what option do you have to choose to actually get the item?

I had limited options, probably because I didn't have a cultist in the company.
Now I don't remember exactly if I chose to watch or walk away (I had two options), but I didn't pick any hostile option.
They still attacked me and demolished my 7 days old company.

Actually I didn't even know it could be a davkul event so early in the campaign, so I didn't pay much attention.

I got the armor with 6 cultists:
done by a lvl 11 original cultist
I had 2, lvl 1 cultists in reserve I hired only for the event sitting around
And 3 conversions of various levels.

Was camping at night in the fields when it hapened.

(as a side note, conversions are pretty good sometimes because it adjusts their payroll to cultist levels, so you can often save a lotta money this way)
