drunkard trait
do people not want this trait on purpose? it seems pretty good for melee, resolve + damage for a little melee loss?

The only problem with Drunkard is you have to put up with the mercenary losing random items from your inventory, including expensive and rare weapons or armors. The trade off is very unfavorable. Drunkards also get Drunk when they drink at Taverns but that's not so bad. So unless it's supposed to remain an undesirable Trait, Drunkard could use a change. The event could be limited in scope and frequency. Removing it altogether would be too much though, since Brute only gives +15% damage to the head for -5 Melee Skill. Unless both Traits were to be reworked...

Drunks have events that lose items, I think start fights in town and if you by the company drinks ends up drunk with a 50% chance of a hangover. The drawbacks outweigh any benefits imo

On the other hand, flogging them for losing items will remove Drunkard. (It'll also make them angry enough that they'll most likely leave the company if their morale wasn't particularly high.)

I have over 890 hours in Battle Brothers and i've never had the event of losing an item. In fact i wasn't even aware the drunkard trait did this.

Well, in my first campaign I lost 3 items in quick succession. Fortunately, they weren't named items but I saw the danger and whipped the Trait out of the recruit who got Angry and left the next day.

"Everybody makes mistakes." Sigh. I need my drunkards. One is a Killer on the Run with Brute + Drunkard. :brotherfist:

A brutish drunkard! Who killed a village big-shot in a drunken rage! And then went on the run!
Mercs come in all flavors, don't they?

I consider Drunkard a positive trait on any non-ranged brother because no other trait or perk can replicate increased damage no matter the weapon. The item loss is annoying sure but the worst I've ever lost from it was a Greatsword about 200 days in, so basically nothing.
