Professions to cover to earn long-term beneficial events?
Trying to make a list of professions to cover, in order to not miss out on important events (and where if you need to, you can fire them after the event has triggered).

* Caravan Hand. In order to get your cart improved at some point.
* Bowyer. For a masterwork bow.
* Cultists. For Davkul events.
* Tailor doesn't seem as important, because the Direwolf Hide armour is nice and all early on but hardly important. But even so...

Are there any others you really want to cover? I like the Monk as well, because he's so great at solving interpersonal problems (and I don't know how many times mine has beaten up the cultist by now!).

I dont bother with tailor because sometimes the "raider in wolf skin" quest kicks in and I can just stab my way to obtain the armor.

There is also some profession combo events like Graverobber + historian = unique to keep in mind. There are more of those kind of things in the wiki page I believe.

A witchhunter is also pretty good to have because of this:

I don't get it. I know the Witchhunter can make antidotes, but...

I do like all the "teaching" events, like archery competition, swordmaster or old soldier teaching someone, and so on.

He's referring to that event: https://battlebrothers.wikia.com/wiki/Undead_Hoggart. But even if you don't have a Witchhunter, I think it can trigger and you can also get a named item with other choices.

I always have a witchhunter to try and get the sword. Agree Monks are very good to have round

I think squires are one of the best background, so i also like swordmaster or hedgeknight (i think this also works) for the training event.

Squires are very well rounded characters. It's too bad they only have an average base Melee Skill of 58.
gazomierz Nov 2, 2018 @ 9:10am
58 starter is still not bad, Especially since, like you've said, their stats are decent across the board. They're also quite affordable. One of my fav backgrounds.
Abel Nov 2, 2018 @ 9:49am
You're right, 58 MSK isn't bad, but it's only slightly better than average, I'd say.
Yes, they can even be found for under 1K Crowns. The last Squire I recruited cost about 650 Crowns. He was Dexterous! But sadly also Cocky so I had to let go of him...

Witch Hunter for above reason and also a few other positives from events such as person being burnt at stake.

I like Historian personally for lore, but also a few things out of events. And he can sometimes deciper treasure maps from a merchant event which leads to good loot. A thief can also be used to get the map for free, additionally earn some money doing a event in town.

In that case: always have a Monk around, they got a hand full of events where they raise nother brothers resolve.

Monks are great for building up cultist resolve and fixing dummies. Houndmasters can be nice for all the free dogs. Brawlers have some good training events.

Isn't there an event where the squire gets trained?

Yes there is. One of the many reasons squire are such a great background in general.

To add to this topic I will also suggest thieves as a good background to have, since the can steal maps you normally would have to buy, and there is other event also. They do come with bad events as well though.
