Whips are insane. Some good whip builds inside.
My favorite whip/polearm backline ironman build. 4 action points for whip attack/disarm, 5 action points for polearm. So you can do either 2 disarm attempts or 1 whip atk+1 polearm atk, or 1 disarm+ 1 polearm atk in 1 turn!

I get Steelbrow so he doesn't get stray crossbowed to the face and die. Gifted so he can be more useful earlier with more accurate disarms, if you don't play ironman and savescum, steelbrow might not be necessary. Also playing around with the idea of getting overwhelm into the build, so if your 2 disarms miss, the big baddie you will now have a 20% atk debuff!

Duelist whip/throwing build works great too. Throwing against armor, whips against unarmored, all while safe in the backlines!.

More feat intensive so its hard to get any defensive perks, however playing around with the idea of getting rid of berzerk/killing frenzy since throwers tend to cripple/disarm opponents and frontload damage due to range than land killing blows.

Now for those not knowing why there is such a rage for whips, they make lots of difficult fights/situations manageable.

Hexens? Alot more easier when you can disarm your big bad 2h bro that got charmed next to your archers.

2h hammer reavers/orc mansplitters/etc that cant be killed by end of turn? Disarm is your friend.

2h Hedge knight you are scared of surrounding to dagger for his armor? keep him disarmed!

Scary hp heavy beasts with low armor like untolds in early game? Whips actually do great ranged dps on these, and they will bleed too!

I suggest to try these builds out with least 2 whip hybrids in your backline, you are not missing out on dps and you get tons of ultility.

Hmm, are the whippers only using whips? What are they hybridizing with?

???? its literally the subject of my post. 1 build hybrid with polearms, another with throwing weapons...

Whip/polearm works pretty damn well for me too.
Tried that yesterday after someone else mentioned how insanely good whips are. Until they inevitably get nerfed of course.

Interesting.
Whips use Melee Skill. It's your second build that is 'hybrid'.

haha guess thats true. Nice thing about whips/polearms you just need to find a brother with 2/3 stars in matk and 50ish starting matk and no relevant stars anywhere else and you got yourself a good polearm/whip brother.

You forgot to mention another thing that whips excell at....shredding geists while having up to 2 lines of undeads between you and those annoying screamers :brotherfist:

Where do you even get whips? I've played about 100 days total in the new DLC, longest in one campaign is about 50, and I haven't seen 1 whip on an enemy or in a town.

Weaponsmith or Bounty Hunters and Beastmasters.

Whiping Bros replaced a Fencing-Sword Ghosthunter (8 Geists in 3 turns, the 9th didnt die as the damage was below 10HP ;-) ), we will soon get a nerf and it will be the same like arrow shooters, cleaver perk got interresting now ;-),

and if you are lucky you can get a famed whip with minus on fat cost, endless disarm ;-)

Is it even worthwhile getting a whip brother if you are getting nerfed soon?

Eh, they introduced so many things that made the game harder, I hope they wouldn't eliminate all the things that made it easier.

If you preemptively avoid everything that may be nerfed in the future you never get to have any fun.

Besides, at least the polearm/whip build doesn't require a whole lot that wouldn't make sense on a regular second row fighter anyway, so you're not losing much if whips are no longer viable.

If true this makes getting whips a must.
