What is the bee?

Sometimes you get a random bee at the top of your screen. What does this mean?

I think you get some money from it every now and then, but it also gives you one of those buffs on the side, like extra click damage, coin boost etc.

Then surely the abilities would glow like when you activate them yourself? Or at least something to tell you which ability it is?

U have to click the Bee 50 Times to acivate it.

The ability does glow if you activate it from the bee (the timer doesn't get reset to max, so it doesn't hurt you skill synchronization) - I have to say I rarely find the bee useful once you have ascended a few times, as you can't normally combine it with other abilities, and once you have the idle ancients the risk of a clickstorm from the bee breaking idle mode means you just ignore it, but it can be useful on your first few ascensions, especially as it can trigger abilities you haven't even got up to (and the occasional free Dark Ritual is always a nice bonus when its timer is still 8 hours)

I've just tested it and it doesn't increase your gold. But then I didn't click it 50 times, so maybe.

click until the bee disappears,
then one of the 9 skills will be activated for free,
it can also be a skill you do not own yet

Is there any indication of which skill it is? Because so far I've haven't noticed anything after continously clicking while the bee is there.
