That was the case in a previous version as someone told me in a later post, sorry~
will make things much easier!
Some info on mercs:
http://clickerheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Mercenaries
Has some good info on mercs like reward efficiency table, life expectancy of merc, etc.
Where did you get that idea from? There's never been any indication that merc recruitment quests do anything to change the chance of death?
The chance of death is rolled at the creation of the merc. Or the ressurection of the merc.
It doesn't change. Period. It's set in stone.
No, they aren't. They used to be 6 months or more ago before the logic of how merc deaths were checked were changed to avoid cheating.
For the OP there isn't much you can do apart from wait, maybe risk rubies on late revival of mercs at slightly higher levels than normal/efficient, but even if you revive around level 14/15 the odds are still against you (seeing as the median lifespan is 4.5 days, you are still below 25% chance).
Another small thing you can do is ensure your mercs are on long quests any time you aren't going to be playing for a while (sleeping or working or that sort of thing) - while this doesn't help get your current mercs to any higher level, by having your mercs questing more during downtime you will get to the next mercs, and the ones after that faster, and thus reach the merc destined to break 25 faster than if they are all sitting idle whenever you are not actively playing. (This same advice works for anyone still waiting on Leeroy Jenkins, whereas the previous advice about reviving late is the opposite if you still need him of course).
Once you get eventually get close (23+) ensure you don't send the merc on a quest that sails past the 25th level, as you risk having a merc that would have lived to 25 but hasn't cashed in the xp from being half way through a quest when he dies - you can obviously offload too long quests onto one of the other mercs until you get something of appropriate length (which could be a 2 day quest if you are level 23 with 0% xp or similar).
The other thing is to hope for a +lives merc which while still not a guarantee, they have a much better chance of reaching 25 if you hold off their extra lives until after the rubies gets too expensive (this combines well with late reviving the merc compared to "max efficiency" level). Of course the more extreme version is just to bury all your mercs until you get one with +lives, but that is a risky strategy given it can take a long time to get one if you are unlucky, and meanwhile you are losing the chance of getting to 25 "naturally" with the mercs you are letting die.
On a side note - how do you get leeroy jenkins? Just luck when getting a new merc?
yes, just wait, after playing approximately for one year each day you ll manage almost all of those achievements.
dedication and afk is teh way to go
ah, and dont revive an exttra lives mercs with extra lives. use rubies until its too expensive
I had no idea!
Looks like I should favour the shorter quests if I'm at my laptop.
I like how Froggy has 7.5k hours in the game and has yet to get the achievement for burying Leeroy Jenkins...
Edit: Also this is way off topic but i recently started playing Civilization V since i never really gave those games a chance for me to like them and noticed Froggy over on that games forums too :P
INB4 Leeroy Jenkins was introduced as a joke achievement and was never actually implemented into the game >_<
In all seriousness though i only have almost 600 hours into this game and i fully expect it at this point to be my first 1000 hour game on steam and its currently my first most played with second place being Ark at 439 hours lol. Lets just hope that RNGesus will be with me for Leeroy to show up :P
