Help with installation (GOG)
Bought the game on GOG. Can't find where their forums are to ask this so gave up & came here.

I'm having a problem installing the game & can't access GOGs support as the page supposedly doesn't exist.

I have 2 drives. SSD is full. I want Tyranny on the other drive but GOG galaxy client is on the SSD. The game wont install when I select an alternative drive (the one I want it to install onto).

What do I need to do to install this game?

either u didnt buy it on gog or u r very stupid :O forum is right here!

(steam removed the link with the juicy pictue that would show all the world how dumb u r :D instead i have to use words :( forums r under the community button and support is under the support button right next to the comunity button, both buttons r on the upper part of the site, right in the middle, same design as in most sites, very common!)

in case ur wondering, support is the next button :O

i dont have gog galaxy so i install my games from my profile, it is the button next to the support button that doesnt exist on ur gog site lol, u hover over ur profile then press the games button then choose the game (click on it) then download all the packages from the game downloads list

Nice thanks.

I managed to find an old email with a link to their support which worked. When I tried through the client which then opens a webpage in the browser it doesn't work. Anything I click on Just gives an error "oops!" message 'nothing here'.

Anyway I sent 2 messages to GOG support as now my witcher 3 won't 'PLAY' either. Having a bit of a nightmare with GOG at the mo. I've changed drives for installing games in the past with no issues so IDK why it isn't working this time.

Shame as I was planning to purchase more games from my wishlist in their sale but after this - nope.

Download its legacy installer and install it manually. All GOG games offer that option. Galaxy will detect it and add it to its list of installed games even with this method.

Ok I'll look into that thanks.

I found the installer it's actually what I used the very first time I purchased a game on GOG. The same thing happens though when I try to install. Just says it can't. The drive has more than enough space so I don't understand. No response from GOG support either. Why did I buy this game ha oh well a lesson learnt.

Is the installer itself intact? There is a checkbox at the start of the process that lets it do a self-check.
I never saw any GOG installer do what you describe, ever (and I have been using GOG longer than I do Steam), this is why I am surprised. Changin the drive letter manually should just start the install process.
Unless your SSD is so full it cannot hold the temporary installer files. This is a Windows native function and you would need to do a symlink for the Temp folder on another drive to circumvent it.

Well maybe that's it then my SSD is pretty full with about 7GB spare. When selecting the other drive (as I have before with out issue) I clicked ok & nothing happened. It did say something about files I don't remember - 'aquiring files' maybe? But not actually downloading or installing anything.

Opened the client today first thing I noticed was The Wicther 3 had the green 'PLAY' button back again which was greyed out before. So I then tried to see if it was possible to install Tyranny & it worked exactly how it has in the past no problems at all.

I really don't understand what happened or why but the main thing is it's working. I think I'll need to see if I can find out from somewhere what caused this incase it ever happens again or how to avoid it, first time I've had anything like this happen.

Thanks for the help though.

Hm. It is a bit of a blind shot, but what you describe seems to have its roots not in the GOG installer files but deeper. There is a freeware program called CCleaner. You probably heard about it. Get it and run its registry-cleaning part. If it finds at least 10-12 problems in the "Installed programs" category, then my hunch will be right.

I did scan with Malwarebytes & Avast but nothing showed up. I'll try CCleaner. Thanks.

I had a look where I would normally get downloads from & CCleaner doesn't appear there. Is there somewhere safe to download it from?

Also the drives are both partitioned so not sure if that makes a difference.
