Was this crash a vanilla install or did you have something like the 2012 ragdolls & gibs workshop addon?
Engine Error

Same error here. Get it every time resume my last save. Ran an older save and happened again... shortly after the female scientist started following me. Makes sense as the new save was right next to here too, though with out her following me.

All updated to latest drivers/versions.

The result was that when Vortigaunts started appearing, perhaps due to too many visual effects, the game simply crashed.
1. right click 'black mesa' icon then choose properties
2. choose 'Beta'
3. Under 'Beta Participation', choose 'april-2024-rollback -Roll back before reimplementation of DXVK'
This worked fine for me. Or wait for a week from this post for the patch to release, according to admin in discord server.
