Crossfire Update 0.2.0 - Known Issues list
KNOWN ISSUES:
  • Server ranks lists players as un-named
  • Snarks are floating on Crossfire
  • Players can pass through some barrels in Crossfire
  • Flash effect applies to people in bunker
  • Crossbow sound effect have horrible screeching sound (link on how to fix that coming soon)
  • Turning off muzzle flashes does not work (fix coming in next patch)
  • Tau is overpowered
  • Tow launcher aim get screwed up if you step to close
  • Crossbow may float in some single player maps
  • Game may build .ain files when changing levels
  • Collision is on teammates in TDM
  • Closed Captions May not be working - Please see workaround for Closed Caption Enabling here. They do work! Need to add a UI element for selecting them.
  • Fix UGC workshop Publish tool so that it can actually launch. (It did before the update, we swear!)It launches now, and you can upload mods, but they are placed into SteamApps/Workshop/Content/362890 when you subscribe to them - Copy/pasting the contents over to black_mesa/bms/addons and putting them in a folder that is named the mods title, should allow them work.
  • Running animation still applies to weapon after switching.
  • Lag is being reported on some maps, but not others. It's being reported that it is tied into either weapons spawning, or players spawning. We have yet to determine which one it is, or if it's both, or if it's neither.
  • Crash bug on Silo 2 of Blast pit when loading a map. (If you are spawning into the map in the void, then you probably have the DLight Blastpit mod, or had it at some point and the files didn't get properly replaced. Remove the mod, and verify your game client files. This might not be related to the Crash bug. If you are getting the crash bug, but have NEVER installed the DLight bug, or anything else like that, please let us know!)
  • Some people are saying that they need to rebuild nodegraphs or A.I is disabled completely on some maps. I would recommend that you verify the integrity of your game cache.

We will update this list as we find them, or bugs are squished.

Jan 14th Update:
A patch to the Public Beta branch has been launched fixing some issues: Please check this thread for more information[forums.blackmesasource.com]

Edit: After reading through the entire discussion, you need to get your sh*t together. Especially when your charging £14.99 for it.

The authors of addons are responsible for fixing their addons, not us. We're still in development, so mods breaking is going to be a common occurrence. If a mod you use breaks, I would suggest politely reaching out to the creator of the mod and letting them know that an update broke their mod.

Piss off. I was originally going to upload a whole speech ranting about this, that & the other but I deleted it, whats the point. Go at your own pace, I eagerly await your next update, just try to make it a good one however long it takes.

I recently bought the game to play multiplayer until Xen releases and I definitely notice horrible performance issues on certain maps, although my PC isn't great, or even good, I've never noticed any performance issues on high res/settings on any Source engine game, I hope you'll work on improving the performance in future updates?

I had to restart the level when loading save from previous version cuz all AI got disabled.

I get nodegraph rebuilding message at the start of each level.

Oh and MOST IMPORTANTLY, game crashes 100% of the time when exiting the area with black assasins down the elevator at "Lambda Core" level. I see "loading" and then instacrash. Cant progress any further.

If you don't have the DLight mod installed (or any mods, for that matter), and if you haven't verfied the integrity of your game cache, I do not have a solution. I have been unable to replicate the crash, nor seems to be anyone else.

Yes, old saves are broken they will lead to all the issues that you have explained.

The Lambdacore crash is a new one, so I'm going to use the standard questions here to help understand it: Do you have any mods installed, if so can you uninstall them and reverify the integrity of your game files? Can you please tell me exactly what you're doing as you lead up to the crash? Does anything seem out of place?

No mods installed, sir. Verified integrity twice. Everything seems to be in place. I just kill all em ♥♥♥♥♥-assasins, go up around the warehouse, press the lift button and as i go down and see "loading" i crash in 0.5 sec after that.

This update is not compatable, with many, if not all, save files.
There is a skywalk bug on crossfire, here's a video:

Your saved games are broken with the latest update so you cannot load one of your previous saves.
To fix this you will need to restart an unlocked chapter, go to New Game and choose one of the chapters.
Simple as that.

This is correct. The Source engine's save game system hates binary updates and basically every single update we do will involve changes to the binaries. There is literally no workaround to this as it's just the way the Source engine's save system is designed.

If we update the game, your old save games will break. This will always happen and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it, unfortunately. You must just start a new game from the chapter you were on, using the main menu's "new game" option.
Chon is right, or you are free to open the console and type the map name you where on (I just hope the map name is right) :)
